Well, nearly year-round. It's pretty messy today....
  2. When you add LEDs, the amperage load changes, causing the original flasher to "hunt" for the right output to satisfy the load. Get an electronic flasher and you'll be good to go.
  3. Did you mess with the engine AT ALL? It appears you may have removed the distributor for your project. Did you turn the engine while the dizzy was out? Find TDC. The dizzy rotor should be pointing dead straight to the front of the car. If not, you're dizzy timing has been disturbed and needs to be re-done.
  4. Could also be the burning off of spilt oil...??

Ditto what he said. Roger is a good guy. Many of us have obtained parts from him that are unavailable ANYWHERE else, so hang in there....
  6. Ever hear of "Tire Rack?" And you could possibly have ordered what you wanted, rather than "settle" for what was there. Just a thought.
  7. "Christine" was the 1957 Plymouth Belvidere in a movie from the Stephen King novel, "Christine." Scary bitch, she was....
  8. You take the word "meticulous" to a whole new level. Good job!
  9. If you're bothered by the 3rd gear whine, don't let it bother you anymore in the sense of impending failure. Mine developed that whine 35 years back and until I plugged in the 5 speed two years ago, it was still whining but making "car go fast." Can't say the whine is endemic to the transmission, but can say that you're not alone....
  10. Nice ride, Venus. Post a bit more about the car's history, what you've done, future plans, pics. We'd love to see it ALL!
  11. That one IS a beauty, isn't it?

That one's not exactly my cup 'o tea. Aftermarket T-tops = aftermarket water leaks and weakened structure. The "Ricer" spoiler and "roll cage" indicate the car may have seen a bit of abuse. Having said that, these issues can be rectified (if you choose to do so). All it'll take is $$.
  13. Dennis has it right. I have a similar set-up on my '70 and with no window tint, it just cuts the heat a fraction, no where near the point of being comfortable. A couple of months ago, I had the windows tinted as legally dark as allowed to improve the unit's efficiency. We'll see in another couple of months if the tint helps any.
  14. Garry... Congrats, Sir! Now post a few snaps so we can share in your delight.
  15. Glad to have you aboard!
  16. I'm in the thumbs-down group. Rust will eat your budget quickly.
  17. And mine is a 'glass airdam from MSA....
  18. Jessi, you will never regret getting stung by the Z-bug. The car itself is simple. It's rugged. It's also, very likely, pretty rusty. Just remember that when dealing with a car that's sat for 10 years, you're likely to find a bunch of stuff that wouldn't be apparent in a car that had been driven for those 10 years. If you use our search function for bringing an old Z back to life, you'll find there's a LOT of do's and don't's. Heed the advice of folks that have been down your road. Their experience makes it simple for others, such as you. And to reiterate an earlier post, pictures, pictures, pictures. Best o'luck to ya!
  19. Another addict in the making! Go, Steve, GO!
  20. Hope you guys dry out pretty soon. Nothing "chaps" a Texan worse than wet jeans, and from what I've seen and read, you guys are soaked! We sincerely hope your lives return to somewhat normal soon.
  21. Conditioning of the "leather," if that's really what it is, will solve the problem, Stephen.
  22. Ditto ^^^... It's your clutch slave or hose.
  23. Hi, David. There's a poster on this forum, Bonzi Lon, who lives in Kansas (has a real nice Z, too). Not sure where. Maybe you two could tie-up and go see the car.
