  1. Here you are Zed.....I have no idea what I’m looking for. Motors are what I do.....transmissions and diffs are Greek to me!
  2. Just put another 50 miles on mine.....zero complaints. What does yours do Jim?
  3. Just finished putting another diff in......slop is gone.
  4. All drive line is stock .....336 diff and stock 4 speed tranny. The reason I noticed it was I had a low speed rattle (like a tail gate rattle) that I traced to the driver side strut. When jacked up, the wheel has 1 to 1.5 inches of slop and makes a knocking noise. It’s not the half shafts. I don’t know squat about diff problems, but the excess play seems to be diff related.
  5. I would assume it’s differential....but then again I’ve never had diff problems, so wouldn’t know exactly what to look for.
  6. I’ve got 2 inches of play in my driver side rear wheel. Not sure where it’s coming from. Anyone help me out? Only on driver side. EC61E4DB-6BCC-4297-8320-D94B670CD63B.MOV
  7. Very cool .......what’s the feedback on those? Do they come pre greased? Do you know anyone that has used em?
  8. Christmas in June! Congrats....what a great surprise.
  9. 336 diff.....ordered the twisting pliers to wire lock the bolts.
  10. All finished. Took it for a test drive and it works perfect. No noise, no slack.....solid. Even when I let off and nail it, no play......I’m happy with Futofab CV shafts!
  11. Yes Charles, there was excessive play in the driver side half shaft outside u joint.
  12. Out with the old.....in with the new.
  13. Thanks Mike. I guess a can of black paint will make color choice an option.
  14. Thanks Madkaw.....I feel much better LOL. I’ll keep everyone posted with how they perform. I have a friend that installed these in a 510. He loved em.
  15. Well here they are.......... Doesn’t look too difficult. I’ll take some pics of the installation.....maybe the Stroker motor won’t hurt these babies!
  16. I just ordered a pair of FutoFab CV axles for my green R180 diff Z. Anyone install a set of these? If so, any words of wisdom on your installation would be much appreciated. Thanks Guy
  17. Very, very nice!!!! This Z will be a blast to drive. What ratio did you get in the LSD?
  18. Hi Mike.....Mike Maginnis at Banzai has a guy that will stamp it just like the original. I bought the plate from Mike and he got the engraver to stamp it for me....didn’t cost that much either.....looks great. Guy
  19. I love my Bendpak......
  20. Had a noise in my ZX tranny in the 73, so I decided to install the one that Eiji rebuilt for me. I’m also taking out the Exedy Stage I performance clutch (too strong for my use) and installing an Exedy stock 240 mm clutch. If anyone wants the clutch and disc (240 mm) for $200.00 plus shipping, it’s theirs (I paid $475.00 and only has 1500 easy miles). Wow, a transmission jack makes it so much easier.....of course the lift does too ?
  21. Wow Sailer Bob.....it’s been a while.......welcome back. I have a number of threads I’ve started on building the F54/p79 combo. Shaving the head and shimming the towers is the secret to getting performance from your set up.....flat tops also. I would make the cut out for the manual fuel pump.....you can always go either way if you choose. Guy
  22. I use the stock manifold on my cars. Never really liked the hollow sound of headers and have heard (but can’t verify) that headers don’t add that much h.p......stock exhaust manifolds are fairly efficient. If I were building a true race car, I would go headers......on the street, stock manifold works for me. IMO
  23. Ditto that from me too Charles. He gave me an early present when he sent me a door for my sculpture.......a super member!
