  1. Congrats SoCalJim.....why buy something that looks like Panasports.....you live with them forever.....get the real deal! You will feel better about yourself!!! Glad you could still find em...I had heard they were getting hard to find.
  2. Yeah Site......Nice to finally meet you in person. Sorry you couldn’t have made it to the Sonesta bar.....or maybe that’s a good thing. The Rusty Nail would have been fun too! Guy
  3. Gotta show this again for those who haven’t seen it! https://uncrate.com/video/vintage-race-car-crashes/
  4. Me thinks there are too many pix of cars and not enough pix of peeps.....Cliff is real , and just what you would expect. We locked up the alcohol and warned the women at ZCON to lay low. AlabamaZama.... nice to meet you in person....we appreciate your enthusiasm ......you are what makes this forum great. Also, so nice to meet Capt. Obvious, Charles, Cody, Jim and Jim, Brian, John Jeffries, Eiji and the rest of the rat pack. Thanks SteveJ for a tremendous effort.....It was fantastic. Guy
  5. Wow....Beautiful car....beautiful shot. The S30’s are frickin awesome eh? I wouldn’t cut corners on anything but real Panasports....you’ll live with them forever, why not install “the best”...Made in Japan! IMHO. The 205 55 16 look great...
  6. Bought mine from Spruell Motorsports in Tucker, Georgia.....can’t remember what I paid, but they had the best price.
  7. Yes....I’ve tried 225 50 16’s....they rub. 205 50 16’s are too short. The 205 55 16’s are perfect IMO.....they fill the well and don’t have clearance issues. I love the Panasports (as you can see).
  8. CD.....I run 16x7 Panasports with 205 55 16 rubber. No problems with clearance.
  9. Any will work.....used or aftermarket. It’s a very straight forward exercise. Take off the old bumper and brackets. Bolt holes already exist for the early brackets. Bolt up the early brackets........4 bolts required.....and if I recall, you can use the 4 bolts that you take off the 73 brackets. Bolt up the new early bumpers in front and attach the two small bolts where the bumper ends attach to the front fenders (a rubber gasket between bolt and fender)......done......need a helper, but a one hour job. Improves the looks IMO.
  10. It was the Red Kote Liner....not sure if they didn’t get the right formula or didn’t let it cure correctly, but you could see the red color in his gas. They redid his tank and there was no further problem. He would throw lash pads everytime he fired it up until he fixed the problem. The intake vales were all that was affected....the liquid under heat would gum up the valve stems and cause the valves to stick. I know that many have used the Red Kote successfully for years, so I hope this is just an isolated example. I like to use Por 15 gas tank sealer myself....IMO only.
  11. Brenda and I will be there. So will Carl Beck, Jim Frederick (Z Mecca), Eiji, Woody Staub and a number of others. This one will go in the books as a great Zcon, I can promise you that. Cliff...you need to make it.....Ilsa was asking if you were coming....she was hoping you were coming too MIKE! ?

Blue....Can you post 5 or 6 pics and some info on your crank? Thanks Guy
  13. If it is a missing keeper, fix it immediately before firing it up again. If it drops the second keeper, your valve will have a close encounter with your piston. A friend of mine had his new gas tank liner dissolving in his gas. The viscous mixture was causing his valves to seize and throw keepers. It was always only intake valves (how he figured it out).
  14. Nothing that indicates Nissan......I sent off 72 rockers to Delta Cams about 5 years ago. I was afraid they may stop resurfacing the rockers. Here are numbers from one box.
  15. I would never get mad at you Z Head even when you can sometimes be a D Head (LOL). I always appreciate your efforts.....even when I disagree with you. Guy
  16. Why would you ever reuse those rockers when for under $50.00 you could have beautiful Nissan Delta regrinds? I can see reusing the cam if it shows no damage, but never those rockers. Everywhere there is a pit, there is a little nasty piece of metal hopefully in your oil filter. Go with the regrinds IMHO
  17. Hi Jim.....I’m no engineer, but have never had any problems with Nissan reused without a regrind or Delta Cam regrind rockers. Folklore is that Nissan had it right with the two metals (cam and rockers) as far as compatibility. Delta does a beautiful job, cheap and quick to return. I always use Nissan Isky regrind Cams ( Stage III) and Delta regrind rockers and have never had a single problem in probably 20 builds if you count 510’s. Good Luck Guy
  18. My thoughts exactly.....”If it ain’t broke, don’t break it!”
  19. Try applying heat.....the rubber should soften up to slide over the neck. Don’t get the heat gun too close to the gas tank or the fumes could cause a problem lol.
  20. Hi Zedy....Looks great, but you need to work with those white safety socks! ?
