Engine noise after oil change
- Cleaning white plastic tanks?
Vinegar- Engine noise after oil change
When you back off the throttle there is a slight"rattling marble"sound as it comes down to idle. Then if you listen close, you can here that rattle again at idle. It's NOT a bearing.- Engine noise after oil change
NO it isn't and NO it should not.FSM says 20/50.Ya'll should bother to notice where Jan lives before posting advice.:stupid:- Has anyone had this coolant leak before ?
Pull the stat and test it on your range with a thermometer.Alot and i mean a LOT of T-stats are junkj roight out of the box.- Running rough after restart
Fuel is getting into the cylinders.Probable cause(s) in order: Leaking injectors Leaking Cold start valve Thermotime switch- Water Pump Question - 1978 280Z
Chase all the holes with a tape and use "anti-seize".You have a long shot(really long)of getting the busted bolt out with a left hand drill bit.But odds are the cover is gonna have to be pulled.- How do you modify your S30?
THe only thing stock on mine is the Hood, doors & hatch- How do you brake in a new clutch?
Yes.You should not smell clutch AT ALL unless you intentionally slip it.- How do you brake in a new clutch?
If you smell clutch on a downshift, something is really,REALLY wrong.- remove cold start valve?
Or tap another hole off the new fuel rail.- remove cold start valve?
Why are you changing fuel rails?- Anyone interested in relined Aluminum drums?
The Pontiac rims you are referring to are really odd ducks.VERY few Pontiacs had those rims.Only full size cars thru '68 got them and they were a special order..I wouldn't use that as a price comparison.- POR 15 overkill?
Yes,this is in the instructions, which if followed, the product is the best thing out there for rust. I've blasted trunk floors and then used POR & woven 'glass to seal the pin holes.- POR 15 overkill?
POR needs "tooth" to adhere.Putting it on over smooth surfaces wether it's paint or metal will result in it peeling off.- 4:11 vs 3:90 diff which one better on street n freeway?
If any one is interested,i'm taking a 3.71 rear out of a 79 810 that i'm parting.- Barrett Jackson Scottsdale
BJ has done absolutely no good for our hobby. Also it has drawn only "speculators" to the car biz. On Saturday there is a all Datsun swap meet going on in Glendale from 7 to 3pm. And don't forget about Pavillions on Saturday night-biggest nite of the year.- Wow, 240K steering wheels are expensive
THIS...is an expensive wood steering wheel. And it's not even NOS. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-PONTIAC-GTO-DELUXE-WOOD-STEERING-WHEEL-KIT_W0QQitemZ350185188652QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5188a9ed2c- **Wrecked**
This sad story illustrates the need for an "agreed value"policy.- Want to see your clean engine pic
- 280Z/ZX ECM tech
I have been having an intermittent issue with the 810 shutting off for no reason. Also,it would go full rich and not start on other occasions.I'm partially bald now, thanks to this issue. A tug on one of the wires entering the ECM would make the car start. So i went thru the connectors and all related stuff.STILL would shut off.At this point the wife is vacuuming hair out of the car on a daily basis. Then i got the idea to take the ECM apart. And i found bad solder joints. In the pics you can see a row of solder joints(Xacto blade is pointing to them)Three of them were bad.The blades run thru the side of the box and then make a 90 degree turn and "land"on a circuit board.WHen the joints failed, there was a"hole"with the pin in the middle-so a little tug would either make or break the circuit and shut the car off(or on).Adding to this is the fact that the ECM is on the drivers kick panel and would be also effected by the door slamming shut. End result is so far so good. And there has been a slight change in the way the car runs.Really hard to quantify it.But the best i can come up with is,it's "smoother".So more than one issue was rectified with the re-soldering.You will need a magnifying glass to see ANYTHING on the board. - Cleaning white plastic tanks?
