  3. Victor, You say the ones from MSA mounted to "stock" location yet I was under the impression that they mounted to the diff hanger. Kinda "backwards" Has anyone else bought and installed a rear bar on a 70-72? Thanks, Dave
  4. What year are the bars for? In particular, the rear bar? If it fits a 72 I'd be intrested. Ya know, mounts on diff support, forward facing. Dave

Craftsman here also. Has anyone been buying their "professional" series? They remind me of Snap-on, lighter weight and smoother over-all finish.

Just picked up a 5 speed out of an '81 from the wreckers. Question..... should I transfer my clutch arm and throw-out bearing from the 4-speed into the 5-speed box, or can I leave the 5-speed "stuff" in there? I know mixing and matching is a no-no but how about that throw-out bearing matching up to my pressure plate? And how about the slave cylinder? It looks like the box I got is freshly rebuilt (has a newer serial number inscribed and the oil was fresh along with the new slave and rubber hose) Thanks, Dave
  8. Why not replace the chain while your in there? When I "lost" my headgasket I went ahead and replaced the chain, The original did have a bit of "slack" Keep in mind a new cam requires new rocker arm/lash pads! Good luck, Dave
  9. Ok, great idea and looks cool but................where the hell do you put em?

Don't forget your commute is calculated in hours, not miles!
  11. Could it be the clutch not completely dis-engaging? When you let out the clutch, does it grab as soon as you lift your foot off the pedal? I have an 89 taurus sho and was having the same type problem, clutch was releasing/engaging right off the floor. Mine has a cable actuated clutch, and the "ratchet" that adjusts the cable went bad. Just a thought before you open up a gearbox................. Dave

If I go into a turn around 30mph and give a little more steer I start to get "understeer" Personally I think its my Sumitomo tires.

Looks like that bidding war started, they're at $201. I saw some Eagle talon tsi (Mitsubishi?) seats at the wreckers yesterday, very nice seat! Adjustable side bolster, thigh lift and back bolster! Man, bummer they were light grey. Anybody ever try dyeing leather?

Are you willing to weld? Most of the time its not a bolt in, but if you have access to a welder, you can get just about any seat to fit. I pulled mine out of a Nissan pulsar nx turbo. Not a bad seat and the wreckers only wanted 20 bucks a piece for them. Figured, hell I'd spend that on seat covers. ( besides, my old seats had over 300,000 miles on em'). As soon as I find some black leather recaros' at the wreckers these are gone:classic: . Good luck

Please note the disclaimer. What he SHOULD have done is add a thickning solution to the sand. Thus he would have extrude honed the ports. Much more effective!

Can you pinch the holders together to get a better bite on the fuse? Or are the holders just real sloppy? Maybe you can judiciosly use some aluminum foil to take up the slack until you get a new box. just a couple ideas to throw out Dave
  19. Usually that brown stuff is pieces of rust coming off your exhaust pipe and muffler. Water usually comes out a tailpipe on a car with a catalytic converter. Hope it helps Dave

Possible its coming from the valve cover gasket? I've seen it more then once, oil kind of gathers around there. Good luck Dave

The '70-71 panels only have speaker holes. Also the "bulge" on the right panel, for the tank, is smaller on the '70.

    For all you Cali's, Isn't that plate number high for a '70 ? Starting number is "987" mine's a '72 with "705" just a thought on if it "really" is a '70.
