  1. I have seen some cars with original backs in very good condition, but the bottoms not. And I have seen some where the bottoms have been replaced but not the backs, like this one on Bringatrailer a while back. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-101/ For the right person, they will be valuable. But, quality aftermarket ones from Distinctive Industries exist also for about $600 (in black). If they are the early type (can you take a pic of them outside the bag?) I'd put their value around $600 - figuring if I had good original backs (rare), I'd be will to spend that much to try to keep the seats original.
  2. Okay, time to come clean. I found this car for sale on Vancouver Island and couldn't resist buying it. My Canadian girl, number 6521 now has an American cousin, Number 957, a 1/70 car. When I finish restoring 6521 they will be twins. HLS30-00957 was owned by a member here, @M3333hp. sadly he passed away in 2020, mid way through the restoration. Rest in peace Pete. Pete's son completed (except for a few small details) the restoration with great attention to originality in 2022, exactly as his dad would have wanted. Pete would be proud. He recently decided it was time to let the car go to another enthusiast. I was very happy to be that guy, and yes I still do plan to complete the resto of 6521. Not that haven't already, I will be taking my time on the current resto, leaving the final work to enjoy when I retire in a few years. I have really missed having a Zed to drive and for club cruises and shows, etc., number 957 will definitely take care of that. Here are of few more pics of 957. I will be starting a new thread soon to document the number 957, and the short list of items on my new todo list.
  3. Looks very nice ! Well done. So no Bitumen in the wheel wells and underside ?
  4. Hahaha, I totally fell for it.. Hahaha, good one.. How long before The other one is ready? Work on it on a regular day or evening and you get there!
  5. Worked on the passenger seat today. Cut off factory mount ears spacer for inner rear, to allow clearance for the fore/aft shaft hold down removed the occupant sensor & pad grid is reverse of drivers side With the module powered, I momentarily shorted the for/aft pin to the adjacent power pin & let the smoke out ðŸĪŠ. I discovered that was all that was necessary - no bridge wire was needed on this one, all switches operate as they should. modding the seat belt reel mount locator stripped the old upholstery modded the outer cap/ switch retainer to clear the seat belt reel. Welded the three seat mount brackets I made in place to match DS layout
  6. Looks very nice - congrats!
  7. I saw that car at the Quallicum Beach car show a couple of years ago. I think right after he finished it. It is a very nice car.
  8. I'm unsure. Its a shame you don't have backs too because that would probably make them pretty valuable.
  9. Well, the ship has already sailed. 😞 I put them up on eBay last night for $95, and.... they sold in about 10 minutes, lol. So I'm pretty sure I underpriced them. Oh well.
