    " after i get done with the z car " Huh? That doesn't make any sense at all...

    my neighbor (old guy constantly puttering in his yard) is always asking when i'm gonna be done working on my car (and yes, there's a sense of sarcasm in his voice). he always shakes his head when i reply "never, i hope!" fact is, if i wanted a car that i was "done with" i'd buy a camry. other fact is, when i do something on the car, it STAYS done - unlike his yard work ;}

  4. The more I drink the more I think. I shoulda' drank more in elementary school. That thing is more zippy on account of the aluminium flywheel. The a/c fast idle connecting arm off the front carb is hitting the heat shield. I'll either have to cut it or the heat shield. More thoughts, more beer. 8^) Mowing grass is better than smoking it.
  5. I gave it a try because my leftover resin went bad a while back and I couldn't bring myself to buy more for such small projects. Resin won't chemically bond to plastics, though the mechanical bond is usually strong enough for non-structural repairs. I haven't tested, but I'm pretty sure the ABS cement has a stronger bond. It's about the same viscosity as fiberglass resin; maybe a little bit thinner. It would ooze through if the crack was large enough and you used enough. My approach was to tack the pieces or cracks together with the cement first, then reinforce with the glass and cement. I had good luck using a toothpick to fill in cracks and gouges, too. Also, unlike resin which is chemically catalyzed, this stuff is solvent based and will start to thicken almost immediately. You also can't glop it on too thick or the outside will set and it'll take forever for the rest of the solvent to evaporate.
