Do the door sills sit flush on the rockers or is there a slight gap where i can weld patches on the rocker?

The silver tin sill plates with (or without) the embossed DATSUN sit flush on the rockers. Better make that a butt weld patch.

Always weld them IN whatever you want to repair.. that way is a bit more work but it's rewarding to "not to see" the repair you did.
