Z Myths Busted

Featured Replies

  ^_^  Okay.. i'll start:

" If your Z doesn't whine it's not a Z "

The 240Z was pushed by the Japanese government as a way to deal with the fall out of the Tet Offensive.

The padded headliner of the 240Z was specifically designed to mitigate the adverse effects of multiple episodes of blunt force trauma to the female passenger's cranial region when she engages in vigorous and unrestrained sexual exploits with the male driver within the confines of the vehicle.

Although this activity was not envisoned by the Nissan engineers, it is a welcomed side benefit.

The spindle pins can be removed easily. Just pull.  FSM says so, must be true.

z's were the car of choice for drug smugglers because they had that hidden compartment in the back.

A Datsun was named so because they were importing the cars to American and needed a name quickly, the president of the company said in broken english "Dat soon?" and the name Datsun was created.  Or something like that...

Or more a Z myth:  The fumes are on purpose to keep her from wanting to ride along, giving you freedom to drive as fast and as hard as you want.

Setting ignition timing a couple degrees before knock makes the most power

I heard the name Datsun came from how quickly it could be repaired,

to which the customers says, "Dat soon?"

How about the way to pronounce "Joe- ertz" properly? Motoman says it several times in his Matsuo-san interview.

Albreht von Goertz is German, right? So Görtz is pretty much like saying "'Gertz."

Note:  somebody make a video on how to property pronounce it.
