Hey guys

Are all L series motors (24,26,28) have the same timing cover on them? Mine has a leak on the water pump due to corrosion and I wish to replace it if possible.

Sorry, I don't have the answer immediately at hand. However, look at my links to find an online version of the parts fiche. From that you can get what years have compatible parts.

2.8 is taller than the 2.4.

I must have had it confused with the l20 and l16 4 cylinders.

Yeah, I think all L-series (both fours and sixes) are the same except the L-20B four.

But I could be wrong...

I have a 24 cover on a 28, same cover

I'm not trying to be an arse here but c'mon boys this wasn't a hard question at all.......... but it seems to have tripped a few of the veteran posters up.

Answering engine questions from non engine builders does this, it seems.

So to put this one to bed, all L engines have the same front cover except the taller LD28 and L20B engines.

If anybody needs a cover, I have 3 or 4 of them in the shed (and a lot of other engine parts!).

And remember... if you have a shaved block, you also need to shave the front cover as well.
