Carl......I've got your answer. Go to www.datsunzgarage.com click performance tip, then under heads, click the underlined P 79. This guy worked with the Z Doctor and has built and discusses the identical engine to my first build. He mentioned that he cc'd that identical P 79 .080 cut and shimmed head and got a reduction to 46cc chamber volume. Now you can tell me what my 1mm overbore will give me as a CR. I appreciate your help. If I did my numbers right, with the stock gasket that would be 9.9645 to 1 on the 1mm overbore. Guy

Greg.....Carl and I tried to figure that already.

Rebello knows what they're talking about (obviously)........Here's a good web-site with a wealth of info. He discusses the P79 and what he's found regarding the exhaust liners (he doesn't think they are very restrictive). The headers look great! Good Luck! http://www.datsunzgarage.com/

The info on this site is part of the reason I'm leaning towards sticking with the P79, but it's nice to hear opinions and experiences of others. I'd love to hear yours regarding your other build.

It's an absolute joy to drive.....The engine dynoed at 160 rear wheel H.P. (190 flyheel H.P.) The P79 is a great flowing head, even with the liners.Remember, if you want to run SU's, you'll have to drill out the fuel pump opening (I got a machine shop to do that). If I were you and already owned the P79 head, I'd go with it! Guy

So the L24 came out and the L28 finally made it's way into the 72 this weekend. I am actually not sure if the engine above is the same one as the one we installed yesterday though. He has so many I can't keep track :)
