Is this a Series 1 Part?

Featured Replies

Today I picked up the 1970 Series 1 Z car which I purchased on Ebay yesterday. I found a number of parts in the luggage area including this, what looks to be a skid plate. Is this just a rogue part or does it belong on a Series 1?

I vote for the rogue part thing. I've not seen anything like it on the cars I've looked at. But there's probably lots I've never seen yet...

I tend to agree, but don't want to take a chance. All other parts in the car were correct for the car. Including an original pair of "D" hubcaps etc... I didn't see how this skid plate would mount to the car and became suspect that it might be a rogue part, but I will wait to see what other members think before I scrap it.

doubt it's for a z. Maybe some kind of plate for a gas tank on a truck.

Maybe turn it over for a running board.

Jerry,

Could this be a piece from the truck that hit the Z on the driver's side?

It almost has some of the same ribbing as parts of the floor, but scrap it, haha. Who knows what it is.

My Dec,'70 Series I 240Z was delivered with a skid plate bolted to the front frame rail. Unfortunately I trashed it back in the 70's when I was hurting for storage space.

None of those in the pictures resemble this unique, hard to find part.

And just what were you storing underneath your vehicle that neccessitated that extra space?
