I have owned mine for about five years now. Until I bought it, the car had been in El Cajon (I think that is how u spell it), California. Therefore it is relatively free of rust.

Has the following:

E31 head with "2400cc" cover

L28 motor

5 speed tranny,

Triple Mikuni carbs

6 to 1 headers

mild cam

Enkei Gold Mesh 15x7 wheels

205 60/15 Michelins

Painted a deep dark blue (actually a toyota color)

Zee ya :)

Now I'm confused.

Zguitar71 has a build date of 1/71 and a VIN of -23876.

jmark has a build date of 2/71 and a VIN of -22975.

My car has a build date of 2/71 and a VIN of -23766.

How does Zguitar71 have an earlier build date and a higher VIN?

My 240 is a 1/71 -20425

HLS30-42928 Made 09/71 bought in Japan by an Army Sargent. He kep it in Japan for 2 years then had it shipped back to the USA when he returned home. I have his shipping label, plus a hand written letter from Datsun thanking him for his purchase of their 240Z.

Mine was also built in 9/71 but about 5000 after yours?!?! Wow they were really cranking 'em out weren't they? What engine # do you have?

I'm not sure. My car is in the shop having the gas tank sandblasted among other things.

I will get it back Oct.15th. I will post that engine number then.
