Dave & Will,

Great initiative for this lighting enhancement effort for our 240 Z's!

I was totally impressed with the quality, design and installation instructions of the headlight harness I purchased from Dave. I would be interested in purchasing any type kit you invent for LED updgrade to dash lites, map lite, tail lites, side markers. Either individual kits or one kit for all the items. I have confidence you guys will get it right and the selling price will be reasonable.

Yes, the led's do emit a narrowed beam but it does widen out as the lighted surface gets further away. Being as how the lights are behind my head and focused forward, towards the dash, they make a better map light than the original. The stock map light is good if the object being viewed is on your lap or below the light. The new leds allow me to hold up the object being viewed the same way I normally read and also help me keep my eyes on the road.

TexasZ,

I've gone ballistic before, but I DO have my limits. I would never disscrace My 240 with something that U.G.L.Y. The L.E.D.'s in the overhead plastic trim in my Z are virtually invisible until turned on. They only protrude out of the plastic about an 1/8 of an inch. Also, my clear L.E.D.'s, when in the off position, look like they are black because the rear of the led is covered with black hot glue.

Kinfish and all others who purchased a harness from me,

Thank you for the compliments and your welcome for the harness. I'm a firm believer in "what goes around, comes around" If I were to make a crappy product, Than I'd expect the same from others. I want what every guy in the world wants, Elisabeth Hurley  Just kiddin, not really, But Seriously, "I want as much good stuff as possible for as little as possible"

Johnny, Just HAD to bring up the Disco thing, Did'nt ya?

Carl, as for decoration, You can only really see them if they are on and YES, they do look cool but My Z is a decoration all in itself, It does'nt need any help there.

:D

Dave.

Yet another item I am interested in from you guys. Keep up the good work.

BTW, I was thinking of something concerning the cutting of the harness. Wouldn't it be possible to get a slip-in connector which would consist of one female and one male connector to put between the male and female connectors on the existing harness? The one wire needed could then be isolated to the new harness for the relays. I'm sure you guys have thought/considered this option. Just throwing it out there.

I look forward to purchasing these items aswell as the headlight relay harness for a 260Z.

Ok everyone...

I've finally found my 'perfect' 240z. It actually has an un-melted original fuse box!

I want to keep it that way. I've corresponded with Dave and am getting the headlight relay upgrade and am really interested in the other upgrades you guys are working on.

Looking forward to the final product!

Cheers,

lww

Ok, someone please tell me if I have got this right. One can replace all exterior lights with LED’s except for those that blink. Blinking lights require a change of the Blinker only. (And my understanding is that a Buss 552 blinker from AutoZone will do the trick).

Is this correct?

For the rear brake light I am considering purchasing a 24 LED 1157 bulb…. 6 LED’s on the side and 18 in a group. Does anyone know if this is enough and will it give me a brighter rear brake light than a standard bulb?

Thanks,

George

Dave and I are working on suitable led conversionsfor the exterior lights, and in 6 prototypes, I am still not satisfied with the illumination of the lenses. My intent is to have the lenses uniformly lit-no bright spots, a consistant and equal glow through out the lens. You can replace the bulbs with leds, but those I have tried have left me wondering why visually. True the available bulb replacements use considerably less electricity, but they also supply much less even illumination. We are working on replacements that even the most anal-retentive Z owner would actually beg to buy, once he or she has seen the visual effect.
