Just wanted to ask to make sure. I've talked to a gentleman about my 71 drivers door, which is rust free(don't ask me how I got that lucky) but has one bent hinge, working window, trim could use a makeover, but a solid door. I told him I'd ask here about a fair price and we agreed to go with what comes from you good people. I will print the results and show him. Next task is to talk to the guy down the street from me about selling the '80 anniversary edition 280 just sitting covered in the garage. thax Dan

I know this question has been beat to death off and on here over the years, but everyone seems to have conflicting opinions, and I'd like to hear from the guys who purchased more recently. My door and window seals are crusted and deteriorating, and that is second on my list of things to fix when the weather warms up (oh for a heated garage..). A lot of people have purchased the Motorsport or Black Dragon kits, although I couldn't really discover if they are both the same thing. Some people have mentioned problems early on with the Motorsport door seals being too thick and doors not shutting. Someone else said they fixed that problem. Is that true? Motorsport has the kits …

Well i have decided to paint my own car and am in the market for a good paint gun @ a resonable price. I not really sure as to how much i need to spend on a paint gun since i'll proabbly only use it a few times. Do i need seperate guns to spray primer, paint and clear? What brand should i buy? (My car is a daily driver and not a show car) I have been reading online about spray guns and it seems that i should get a HVLP gun for automotive paint purposes. Please share any painting tips or trick that might prove useful to someone that has never used a spray gun before.

Guys, sorry for the rush here but I need a quick answer on how to proceed from someone experienced in this area. I just got done stripping the tar based undercoating from the floor pans and was planning on simply applying some POR-15, but now I'm not sure whether to go ahead with that as planned ignoring the damage, or attempt to repair the damaged/dented frame rails first since POR is kind of a permanent thing. The damage can be seen in the pics below. It looks like it was probably done by either or both the PO and mechanics putting the car on a lift, as well as a possible road hazard on the driver's side(caved in floor pan when I got it). My air cleaner on the my 73 240z is blue. I am assuming it was changed out by the previous owner since I see everyone seems to have Orange. Was the blue from a specific year?

I'm trying to help a friend out with her Z, and I just can't seem to locate the thread I'm looking for. I seem to remember probably 5 or 6 years ago a thread on one of the forums about using a bushing found in the Help! parts that you find at any auto parts store to rebuild the door hinge pivots. Maybe I"m remembering incorrectly... does anyone else recall this or have any info that might help? Well these are the two areas that im working on. Is there anything I can use to get down in the little crevices. I understand that these two areas must be perfect before you lay down the body caulking to prevent the rust from coming back. I feel lucky now that I’ve seen pictures of cars with much worse rust in the rear hatch. I just hate body work!

On an original car, are the roof-to-door jamb and A-post spotwelds visible when viewed from the door openings? Thanks, Fixitman
