I'm putting the cylinder head & fuel injection from a '78 280 on a '72 240 block. I forgot to pull the fuel pump and damper off the parts car before it went to the crusher. Do you have a suggestion for an after- market pump ? Brand? And where do i get a damper - anybody have one for me? Thanks all !! - Jeff

At the risk of upsetting everyone, especially the adinistrators, I want to ask for your advice on behalf of a French Z owner who has a 1980 1.8l injection Silvia as well. His fuel consumption has gone up and the amount of CO has risen from 2 to 4. The motor runs cool (oil at 70 degrees instead of 110 and he therefore thinks that the injection unti believes the engine is always running from cold and gives the engine more fuel just as if the choke/starter is engaged. He has tried fitting an adjustable thermostat which has helped a bit but still the engine needs some insitance before starting. Before the engine fired up first time! There seems to be a loss of power on the ro…

Has anyone gone to town with EFI on an L28 in a 240Z?? i.e, a custom programmable ECU system, bigger injectors, aftermarket injection throttle bodies on a Weber type manifold etc.. What have you done and are you happy with the results??

Hi all, I sold my '75 280z, but, I'm keeping the engine (totally blown) and EFI. I'm thinking about using it as a possible solution for my '71 240z project. But, I really don't know what I should remove. Anyone have experience moving EFI from one car to another?

I posted something about this about a month ago but the problem didnt go away. I have a 77 l28 fuel injected in my 240z. After cleaning up the fuel rail/injectors and also the throttle body my engine developed a idle problem. When you push on the gas the rpms go high and never come back down. The linkage and everything is ok. The only way to get the rmps to come back down is if you put it into gear or to shut off the engine and turn it back on. (but once you hit the gas again...it comes back) I found that if i move the wires around and rotate the throttle valve switch the idle changes. I havnt been able to find any vacuum leaks...So can i conclude that the throttle body i…

I have a 1981 280 ZX which has fuel injection. I know that this forum is used by mostly 240-280Z owners and that the ZX's are the black sheep of the Z family. However if anyone can look past the addition of the extra consenant (X) and comment on my question, it would be greatly appreciated. My car has an automatic transmission, so great gas mileage is not to be expected aka. 3500rpms @ 60mph. I was wondering if there is anything that I can replace or clean out in the fuel injection side of things that could help my fuel economy out. I was also thinking about trying to find a 5-speed to replace my 3-speed auto out with. I would also be interested in knowing if the 5-speed…

1975 280Z - could use some advice on how the control unit (fuel injection brain) hooks up...??? There are two white wires with female butt connectors coming out of it that are not connected to anything. It will start and idle, but accelerating makes it run like it's getting lots of air, but no fuel. Four of the injectors seem to be working, but two don't. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thank You!!!

What is the Hasegawa Power Services injection system all about? Of course, I can't read a damn thing on their web site...I am a FI fan and have often wondered about an 'unmetered' air flow and it's possibilities. I clicked on the link and said, "OMG! here it is!" What do you know about it? What regulates the injectors? Are there individual butterflies? They have a black box pictured...does it replace or add on to an existing CPU? I would think the existing brain would be worthless in this system. Is it RPM based? Is it vaccuum based? Oh, yeah.....and......(what does it cost?) steve77 soon to start a 240 FI project
