To your knowledge does anyone sell rebuilt trannies for our Zs? I lost fifth all of a sudden without any notice on the freeway this AM, but did make it to work in 4th just fine, 1/2/3 whine due to what I believe to be one of their shaft bearings having spun itself... Basically this one's had it... Yeah I could go and get another tranny from the junkyard but who's to say how many XXXXXX miles it will have and how long it will last... I could give my tranny to someone to have it rebuilt but that means I'd be dead in the water for a while... that's why I wonder if there still exists someone that sells them outright? Any clues? Thanks, -e

Struck a problem installing a R180, I took out the R200 to rebuild and do LSD conversion, installed spare R180, using the original R180 moustache bar. Problem is it will not go all the way onto the two bolts through the floor, goes on initially but wont go all the way, about 3/4 inch slack at the top. I found an old post that mentions that the bolts on an R200 are thicker, and that the bushings can be drilled out??? All the parts suppliers seem to list the bushes as the same 240-280Z. Is there a difference? Have I manufactured a problem because I'm doing this swap "backwards"? only intended using the 180 short term, so didn't renew bushes, they did not look too bad. If t…

Hey Everyone, I have a question that I have not found an answer to through the search function that is driving me crazy at the moment. I installed urethane mustashe bar bushings in my car (the 280Z in my signature) to replace the mushy and very old rubber ones this summer. The bushings however have sqeaked, creaked and groaned very loudly since I did this (I did use the silicone lube that came with them) and today I took the bushings out again and regreased them with ALOT of bushing lube and they still make tons of noise. I did this two more times today with no sucess at making the noise go away. My question is does anyone know of any tips or tricks …

Hey guys I have a 1" front sway bar I was thinking of installing but after a better look at the job I noticed that i would have to drill holes in my frame rails to accommodate the larger bushing clamps. Would this be a worthwhile upgrade?

Hi guys, I'm still under the proces of replacing springs+shocks and ctrl arm bushings, within that I decided to change the Anti sway bar that I have chich was hit I guess and bent with a used one in good condition.. after having the old one removed I discovered that the new (used) is a thicker one, whci I would say it was on a 280Z 2+2, it fits exactly like the old one (18mm). will it be coonsidered as an upgrade? since people are buying thicker than a 280Z 2+2 sway bar! or it wont make any difference since it is just +2mm with the same material (stiffness)?

I did some searching but could not find all the info I needed. 1. What type of coil over kits are you guys using? 2. Are you happy with the performance of said kits? 3. Where is the best place to purchase coil over kits? Thank you for your time and help. I have been on MANY car forums and this has got to be the best one so far! The amount of information that can be found here is priceless. The members aren't bad either! Thanks, Thomas

I had my car aligned today and the good news is that it is straight and the uni-body is straight. The rack and inner and outer rod ends are all sound. The problem is that the small universal joint at the rack is worn and is causing a bit of a dead spot. This is not the one with the urathane bushing but the small steal one further down. My question being, is this sold seperatly or does it only come with a new rack. If it is sold seperatly what is it called and where do I find one?? Best, H Houghton
