Everyone on this forum I believe has had issues with rebuilt alternators and starters. Take it to the parts store and have it checked out.

S30 parts are rare and expensive. Not enough competition or volume of sales to keep the price down.

Or a new flare on that tube and maybe a new flare nut. I'd venture a guess that it didn't go 6 years without any leak at all - probably just one that was slight and unnoticed... (just like many plumbing leaks)

A quick google search... it's not good. EDIT: not trying to be a prick but the New Zealand girlfriend is online or in person? The email in question is sully38b@gmail.com. Sooooo if you get a message with that email or similar messages beware. I'd ask the moderators to ban PiersMorg18 (have already reached out to Valk and provided picture evidence). Sad what people have to resort to! Not today scammer, not today!

What were the other two options other than zell? I got scammed once, but thankfully I used PP and (it took some time, but) I was able to get my money back.

So, earlier this year I replaced my alternator and diode from the Z store ( 240z Alternator Upgrade with internal voltage regulator) I have been driving it on and off all summer and fall. Today I took the car for a drive in a light rain, with the wipers and headlights on and made a couple stops in town, started no issues. Drove home about 20 miles and got to my driveway and turned off the car so I could put it in the garage, but left the lights on. Went inside and grabbed a set of keys, came out and the car would not start. I had to jump it..... I did noticed the blinkers were slow when I was coming home,,,,,,, The AGM battery tested fine a few months ago and it's "sits" with a trickle charger on it....... Thinking the Alternator might of went? Battery went bad ( it is 3 years old)? Before I dive into it, I thought I would ask for advice..... It seems odd that the rebuilt alternator from the z store would have gone bad? Before I pull it and have it tested, has anyone had issues with rebuilt alternators? Any advice is appreciated.......

Do you know of classic Z cars as an administrator? I got the impression from bww5325 that Suly was a member of the classic Z Cars community

He gave me 3 options. I chose Zell because it was through Bank America and I do my banking with Bank America. Apparently, you can't get any money back if you use Zell. "Every day's a school day " I've never been scammed this is the first time for me. I tell my kids if it sounds too good to be true it's Probably not true. I guess I should have listened to my own advice. Oh, and Full disclosure I also ordered a sending unit in the isolation pads for a grand total of $460. wwb5325 told me that Sully was a standup guy and a dealer.

Its too bad repoductions cant make a cheaper alternative... or find a similar light off an different vehicle.

It’s happened here before. Sorry to hear that. Best bet moving forward is to order a new replacement from S30.World. Wait until he gets the whs situation sorted out here in the US and you can avoid the tariffs situation. Sorry to hear you got scammed. What form of payment did you send?

Sounds like you don't agree 100%. We're just offering possibilities. It's actually more interesting to some of us that the fitting was 3/4 turn loose and did not leak sooner. If it was mine I'd pull that line and make sure I didn't need more parts before starting the MC replacement. Might find out that you don't need a new MC, you actually need a new hard line.

It's quite amazing the problems in the plumbing world that arose with the change of season. Especially when the atmosphere went from warm to cold...

Yeah, you're right, it does look crooked...I wonder how it didn't leak for 6 years if it was like this. I'll install the new master this weekend anyhow since I already bought it and report back on the state of the threads, etc.
