  1. Grant, If your just changing the coil only and using the original transistor ignition just replace the coil using the original 3 wire ballast. If your original ignition has been removed and using a points dizzy a 0.8 ohm ballast is required to + terminal . Ballast is not required if using msd set-up ,my 74 260 has a msd 6a with original electronic dizzy needed a tack adapter

  3. Hi Steve,I have a 5/74 vin 34513 and looking into suspension packages, the early 260 cars use the 240 parts. The fuel tank would be physically the same except for some added connections for vapor and emission tubes . Call Mike @ Whitehead,s 416-665-2220 to confirm parts interchange.
  4. Looking at wire diagram circuits for a 74 car illustrates separate fuse circuits for brake and tailights, are earlier cars the same? May have a fuse or power feed problem at fuse block

  20. Welcome Catman, I also own a 260 auto , I can see 16% total production ,not 16 cars. My experience with z car ownership finds that the stick cars are more desirable and soon planning a 5 speed conversion on mine. I,m just north of Toronto and will be at the Falls next weekend.
  21. The 280 that had the 260 bumpers was for sale in the canadian classifieds http://www.classiczcars.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2469&cat=23
  22. Just looking at a msa catalog states early 260 cars were manufactured up to August 74 and the late 260,s with the 280 type bumpers were built from September to November. I have just removed an early thin 260 front bumper ,brackets including the 260 shock absorbing mounts from a 77 280Z , it was a direct bolt on , the shock,s were collapsed to bring the bumper into the body.
  23. Conedodger is correct about the front bumper but use also the early 260 shock absorbing mount for a direct fit . Ive just removed this setup from a 77 280 donor car. On my 74 260 the bumper is compressed to the body and with the 240 overiders has the 73 240 appearance from the front
  24. I have a 74 260 auto as well, just picked up a nicely warmed up 280 motor with 5 speed , dynoed at the rear wheels @ 160 hp ,has run low 15 second quarter mile ,needing some minor tuning .
