  1. Have you been on the road without the lower plug in???
  2. O-man that sucks. Hope he had insurance. I can hear it now.(Look at this. He hit me so hard it cracked my dash.) just kidding. Find out what you need and get the list out. I may have some parts.
  3. I think the easy way is getting to know the bumpers. The early Z had thin nice looking bumpers but as the years go on they get into the big crash bumpers. I dont know what was on each year. sorry.

  5. OK, shock tower - shock tower 22" 1\2" fender - fender (rear) 40" 1\2" lowest point rear of hatch about 8" higest point @ front of hatch about 24" Front - back 42" yes it is big enough for A body.
  6. first warm up your motor. inlet valves 0.010 (0.25 mm) exhaust valves 0.012 (0.30 mm) The way I understand it yes.
  7. Cool, no big rush. I think they are the short. Just wanted to know what was on the car. I have about 2 1/2 turns lock-lock now.
  8. I dont see it as cheap. But I think you also need to keep in mind what the cost of A corvette irs + the headache of mounting the disc brake. This just looks like one nice/neat set-up. On the cost so far online I have found them starting @ $1200.00 I can do better I am sure.
  9. Has anyone looked into A jag rear end ? I had A buddy over talking about doing A disc set up on the rear of my Z. He asked if I had looked into the jag irs rearend. After looking this over I think this may be the ticket. With the v-8 going in this will hold the HP. and look @ where the brakes are at.
  10. http://www.kugelkomponents.com/focus.html Look @ this. I was looking around and found A shop that sells A V-8 kit for A ford foucus. I saw this and just had to share.
  11. I was wondering about that. I have seen the W8 badge but didnt know if it was just the name or the motor. I will go and look now. Sounds cool.
  12. Thats the kit I saw in the boneyard in vegas. You are 100% on with the square headlights. They look nasty. The kit looked like it COULD have been nice. But this one looked like they glued in on and took the car in for A $99.95 paint job.:disappoin DAMN Z KILLERS!!!!!!!!!!:dead:
  13. OK, I am looking to find out if the prev. owner may have put the short steering links in. On A stock 240 how many turns is it from lock-lock ?
  14. Here is A link that will show you where to look for the #'s http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2715
  15. First on the rear 1\4 glass. There are four screws two on top two lower. If you have rust these are not going to be fun. I would say grind or drill the heads off the screws. Pull the glass out then deal with that rust. The glass will come out easy frame and all as one. I will put A photo in for you. Front 1\4's PULL THEM. here. http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3077 Read this it will help. Black. Please think about what you want. The darker the color the more flaws in the body pop out. You will also want A carwash at your house. Black shows dirt and dust more then any other color. But A Z in black would look good.
  16. well its out. again :tapemouth
  17. Well, pulled it again. I think I am getting good @ pulling Z motors and trans. 2 hours 30 minn. alone This time its out for A good long time with the vette tpi 350 on the way. I think this one will just get A good cover and tucked away. Maybe switch back some day.
  18. I have seen the same body kit. But I saw this one at A junkyard in Las Vegas. Hmmm this may tell us something about this kit.
  19. most states give you 7 spaces. tick off the cops go with FUGUPIG
  20. I have been collecting information for about 1 year now and can get most info first hand. My father and uncle were the original engine builders for Brian Scarab in the 1970's. There respective shops were back to back in Campbell, CA. Basic progression started out with Chevy 350 Crate motors, with a Warner T-10 Tranny, custom Drive line and Radiator connected to a T-Bird rear end. Some minor Suspension mods and custom motor mounts were fabricated as well. Later versions of the engine were more performance oriented and included up to a Twin Turbo 280z clocked at well over 170 mph in So. CA. The Scarab car was either custom built (the owner supplied the car to Brian for Mods) or a kit could be purchased for self-modification. Hope this helps. Good luck. -Andy Tencati
  21. From what I understand scarab was for the most part A mailorder kit. If I am wrong sorry this is just what I have been told by many people. If that is the case you wont find any kind of production #s.
  22. Thank you for the note on the drain tube. I will be doing the same. The welding I was talking about was on the top seam and the lower frame rails. I dont think that the welding on the top seam would do much as far as making it stronger. But I cant help think that it would help them hold up over time. Better then the stock pinch welds. The caulking & tape parts. I went out and took photos of each side so I could look back and see what was done where. But thanks for the heads up on the truck camper tape. Now thats thinking. I was talking with my body guy today and I think we are going to sandblast the whole front just to be sure it's 100% clean then give it A coat of paint (stock black ). Thanks again.
