Mallory distributor sheared my oil pump drive
Weird, the spindle actually turns the distributor, I wonder if it is simply poor quality mainland china steel in that spindle? Do you know if it was a Nissan spindle or after market? The only other contributors I can think of are an excessive rotating mass in the distributor or some binding of the bushings in the distributor or some mechanical interference inside the distributor as the weights sling. It is strange how the broken piece is twisted. It is as if it only made contact at the very top. ahhha I re-read and saw the tab cause... cancel my guesses

Dual webber upgrade
Hi Shaun, that is a nice project! The car looks well cared for too. You can get the linkage at pierce manifolds. Here is a full kit: ADAPTOR/MANIFOLD
99002.831 You may wish to consider triple side draft Webers rather than dual down drafts. They perform much better. You can buy complete kits at Pierce or buy used kits on Ebay or this forum's classified ad for half the price of new: WEBER CONVERSION
K659 FYI: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/carburetor-systems-s30/41227-sus-vs-weber-dgvs.html

Too Cool Not To Share...
I found it creepy. It is like old Walmart shoppers are assembling it...no young people . I just looked at recent BMW and Toyota factory vids and it is completely different: uniforms, safety gear, etc.

Quarter glass parts
It is glue from the original door seal. The the pinch weld from the bottom of the door frame rises and stops at bottom of the quarter window frame. The quarter window has a part that extends forward to continue the pinch weld to the roof. Some people glue or affix additional foam sealing in this area.

Item 6 in the drawing "Sealing Rubber" can be reused from the original. It is difficult to see as it is squished and bonded. Here are two pics to help: Pic of old seal in place... if you look closely you can see the "Sealing Rubber" Here is is after liberation (it is two pieces of flat rubber):- Quarter glass parts
