  1. If he couldn't be bothered finishing his primer job what makes u think he could be bothered finishing his botch job on the vin number??? :classic:. In Australia we didn't get the Vin in the dash we just got it on the firewall and on the compliance plate. It is sneaky that he's not shown a close up clear photo of the vin #. Most people show that if they mention it in the add. It's good that Carl is watching out for these things however there's alot of people who will BS to you without even blinking. If it was in Australia I'd be willing to take a look .
  2. Well I work in a video shop so I know the movie haven't seen it yet but the general customer feedback is they don't like it. It does seem to be quite popular. However I won't judge it till I see it and since most people don't like to think maybe it's worth a watch afterall. I can't believe you've watched it so much. If you were a member at my video shop it would only cost you $2.50 per hire. :classic: I agree with a general wasteland non car related chat area :classic: . Seeing as some of us make posts about midnight snacks with Peanut butter  "Cough , Mike" .

  7. I know what you mean but it's a sports car deal with it. I imagine racing seats will make it more of a task .

  9. Well that's what E-bay is all about it's an Auction site and he will only get $700 if someone is willing to pay that. So we can let the "average fools" buy it.

  11. It may be expensive but it sure looks nice. Not that I'd buy it wouldn't have the money personally. Especially since it's in US dollars conversion rate would kill me.:classic:
  12. It's good to have you along MIke C. You seem like a well informed individual in the diff area anyway. An area where I'm still a little vague. I understand the difference between R-180 and R-200. I also know early 240z's had the diff set forward a bit more and as a result it wore them out quicker due to vibrations. The LSD is where I start to get lost. I don't understand how u make an open diff LSD. Could you please clarify what you change to make it LSD? Also here in Aus we do have some of the Z31 Turbos and Z32 Turbo's but which one can we use? Is it the Z31 that had the finned cover? We never got a 280zx turbo does this make parts harder? You mention that Kaaz and a couple of other companies make a LSD kit for a R200 so if you have a standard R200 open diff do you not need to go get Z31 or Z32 donor parts? Thanks for your time. :classic:
  13. Carl that's a very good point...... I'll probably plot around in my L28 N/A until I build up the Turbo P90 project. It may also be the valve stem seals that are stuffed. I notice if the car idles for a while and I give it a little rev then I get the puff of blue smoke is it more likely to be valve stem seals or rings in this situation? Thanks again.:classic:
  14. Yep dizzy is an aussie thing......... I have an electronic dizzy in my Z no problems with the tach. In terms of reliability the 260z tachs are the problem ones. Apparently they were made by a different company and worked slightly different. Only problem is my 260z tach never worked when I had a 260z and every tach I swapped did not work either. Could have been my car but I'll never know now .
  15. Could you guys shed some light on what is involved in a light rebuild as he originally posted as I'm also curious..:classic: My l28 burns a bit of oil doesn't leak it so I have the feeling the oil rings are gone on 1 of the cylinders. It runs hard and fine just eats a bit of oil, I've tried thicker oil for older engines helps a bit not heaps. I think the engine is in good condition for the most part it still gets good oil pressure.
  16. Ok recently I replaced my front control arm bushes which involved removing the control arms. Should I also get an alignment? I was going to replace the rear ones with urethane but could not obtain those easily here in aus it's a future plan. I had the stock rubber ones from Nissan but the monkey's gave me 4 of the same ones for the inner bushes and I couldn't even get the lower outer ones. Long story but you say the rear will not need alignment??? Because I did take the rear control arms off also.... Thanks. PS: If it is out of alignment will it feel alot better to drive afterwards???
  17. Hey Mike if you read this post, maybe you could add this program to the download section here. I could not find it when I looked under downloads so maybe it's there and I'm blind. Otherwise it's located at the above link :classic: .
  18. Ok I'm not sure what the word is but here's my reply..... Ok by rotating assembly do you mean crank??? If so it would probably be easier to get a L26 bottom end or L28 block. If you do go for the F54 block and stick the E31 engine head on there. You will require some machine work to make it fit the larger bore. Compression should come up to about 10:1 maybe more with an E31. check out this site:= http://www.zcarclub.com.au/Lseries.htm Very useful program. My car runs a E88 Head F54 block at 10:1 compression ratio. It's been given ZX valves etc... Goes nicely
  19. I like this "Mongrel" Term I've been seeing to describe certain cars. MIght have to use it soon.
