Head Gasket TO Suit E88 F54 Combo.
Thanks for that won't know till i pull the head off at this stage. I've got the clutch out at the moment and with new years im in a bit of stink trying to get parts so I can go away and take the Z with me. Interesting I noticed a bolt missing from one of the driveshaft 4 bolts. No doubt why I was getting so much vibration. scary isn't it? I should have left it alone gone on holidays and had fun but no I had to pull the Gbox out :stupid: .

Head Gasket TO Suit E88 F54 Combo.
Thanks alot Phred I think 83 was the only difference in the F54's from reading the How to Hot rod and modify your Nissan/Datsun OHC. That at least narrows it down a bit I'll give that a try see what happens. Gav,:classic:

Head Gasket TO Suit E88 F54 Combo.
Ok so i wanna switch an engine head from one block to the block in the car currently. Currently I have an E88(240z) head and F54 combo, I'm switching the E88(unknown origin) head from a N42 block to the current block in my 240z the F54. I need to know which head gasket to use as it's close to new year and if I have to order a headgasket then I'll have no car. Can anyone tell me what is most likely the head gasket I will need for a F54 block and E88 combo. I don't think it would be the 83' block although I could be mistaken which is different again. Any help appreciated.

Brake Lights Not Working!
Funny how the simple things can leave you most baffled. I thought i'd done something installing the stereo but thought I'm sure I haven't when I looked around I couldn't see any problems. I think it was a poor connection for sure but if not at least I know the source of the problem. Mr C had to point out the blatently obvious with just connecting the wires. I'm not auto electrician but I'm getting more confident working with the Z's electrical systems. I was almost thinking of taking it to an Auto Electrician can you imagine. Would have been a waste of $50 i reakon. I think it was just hard to think yesterday after drinking so much christmas day I was a bit out of it. :cheeky:

Clutch Suppliers in Australia
What's involved in getting it into a 240z? I wasn't looking at that much for the set up originally but spoke to a mate who was telling me of a very similar set up could be the same deal. Let me know.:classic: Another words I am interested if it's a low fabrication job or no fabrication job.

For sale in Australia...
Yes good point I didn't have a great paint job on my old 2+2 and I do worry alot about the 2 seater being damaged especially at the back of a Z never nice. The 260z is yes a very fun car to drive and is in alot of ways underated I must agree here but with all the performance cars around in Australia especially the turbo imports it can't find a cult following. I don't hate them by any means I did own one but could never really see myself getting another unless it was a daily driver or a car I could take my mates in. I guess I could end up eating my own words the thought of a 2+2 with an RB26 has crossed my mind. My friends always complain about 2 seats on the 240z so a 4 seater turbo 2+2 would be lots of fun for everyone. Ah well. As for value though I can't see the 2+2 ever being worth more than a 2 seater.

Toyota 2000GT
oooo rare topless model it's is my understanding that these never were factory released like this and in the movie "you only live twice" i think it was they had cut the roof and it became a small trend in Japan.

For sale in Australia...
i have to disagree Datfreak, I owned a 2+2 and it was fun but the early 240z's are so much better in my opinion. You can feel the extra weight of the 2+2 and the interior is nicer if you ask me on a 240z. I would only consider a 2+2 because there so damn cheap to buy and I wouldn't worry about it when I park it like I do with the 240z.

Brake Lights Not Working!
Yeah solved thought it was the switch and when I joined the wires the lights came on so I reconnected the wires to the switch and it works I cleaned up the contacts a bit and now it's working so either it's a dodgy switch or just poor contact either way I'm happy. :classic: Thanks for the reply.

Brake Lights Not Working!
Ok so i've read through some old posts and here is what I think may be important to note with regard to my brake lights. To begin with I've checked all fuses and I'll double check them again soon but I replaced 1 blown one. This has not got the brake lights working. The flashers work fine and the parkers light up on both sides, I've just double checked that all wires are connected at the back of the car because I've been installing a stereo recently and think i may have disturbed something while doing this. It's just the actual depress of the pedal that gives no results all other lights on the car work. Im out of ideas unless it's the actual switch at the brake pedal. BTW the car is a 72 just to help distringuish between different wiring in the years.

that's a very nicely dressed ZX I disagree with Kyteler on this one I think the wheels and wing suit the ZX however would not work on a S30.
