Hopeful z owner
This is an accidental topic post. He probably clicked the submit button by accident before he typed in the whole message, which is in another topic by the same thread name. Mike can delete this thread if this is the case.

OK...not hoping to go over a very well worn post topic...
I've got a cover on the Z steering wheel at the moment too, so that would make it even thicker...

Z video
The R33 Skyline wasn't exactly "cutting-edge" in the styling department............ pretty bland really. "Sports car design" - whether that means the actual design of the look of the car, or the design of the car as a whole is debatable...

It is a nice steering wheel.. classic style rather than performance no-nonsense style as the Z wheel is... maybe a bit big though

Does it perhaps look like this: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3216&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500 Then, it's a 240K steering wheel!

Side moulding
Decorative?? Youre talking about those fat rubber shopping-centre-parking-lot strips that run down the bodywork of the car, making it look like a granny drives it? No thanks! Leave them off!!!

Headlight covers stock?
Alan, damn, your radar never ceases to amaze... Another thought - my previous owner told me (and I believe him as it seems pretty logical) that the light beams get a bit messed up going through the covers, and as a result the actual light that hits the road is even dimmer than it should be. The effect is minimal, so I just leave mine on. I drive mostly in the city at night anyway. How true this is I dont know... but it seems reasonable enough. If the covers weren't so tricky to remove and put back on I might be inclined to do an experiment! :beard: (that smily has the be the most un-used smily ever...... unlike that one!)

What is THis....?
How deep can a deep dish be? Not to my tastes, just a little over-done in every way...

Headlight covers stock?
I'd like to know this - the factory 240ZG's did they come with the headlight covers already on? Alan would know, let's see if he finds this thread :devious: :tapemouth

new owner of a 260 2+2
Hey mate welcome to the club, I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland but there are others here from SA as well. Your car looks pretty good, but you might find that with it being a 2+2 and Auto not as highly regarded as the 240Z and 2 seater 260Z manuals... but it's a matter of taste really - and PRICE TOO! I'm sure you realise that the 2+2s are worth much less than the 2 seaters, which make them a bargain buy IMO. Some people regard them as ugly but I just like to call them different The guys here are great and will be able to help you with any problem you might encounter that you and your dad can't solve. If you have MSN you can catch me on "superalgae1@hotmail.com". Enjoy your stay!!

240, 260, or 280? Help
Fixed? You mean that's a problem?? You asked do they rattle. I can't speak for anyone else here but when turning corners those cheap plastic interior panels creak and squeak. Rattling I don't think is a very big problem at least with mine. They seem fairly solid considering they're Japanese and 30 years old!!! I guess you could liken them to an early Porsche, except with the engine in the right place!! The most satisfying thing about owning one? Seeing the faces of the uneducated when the read the badge...... that and to know you own one of hte most important pieces of automotive history. Being able to go fast is a bonus!

New 350Z Ads / Trailers
Yeah, the 350Z ad is great. I wonder if they will show the arty one they showed at the launch - it is totally psycho. It involves an old lady at a bus stop, a young woman, a little girl with a bicycle and one silver 350Z. It's so damn good. Well I thought it was... I will try to get a friend to get the one that's showing on the TV onto the computer for you guys, if I can...

240, 260, or 280? Help
They're totally different. An RS is a REAL Porsche. Here are some pictures for you to compare, but to really understand the RS you need to drive it, apparently. I've heard one and that was enough to send a tingle down my spine. Hair-raising car... Carrera RS: and 944:

1971 240-Z
Has she been restored? The door panels look new... (I rated it 4 because you haven't got original seats!!!)
-
1971 240-Z
Wow, sure is a beautiful example. One suggestion though - clean the insides of hte tail lights. It makes a world of difference and your reverse lights will actually be white once again!!
