280zx Fever

i measured the ride height today from the fender to the centre of the wheel (hub). On the rear i got 14.5inchs both sides. Front i got 15inch's both sides.... No i compared that too my other 280zx 1980 model and i got 14.5 on the back and 14.5 on the front... The 1979 model was in a front end accident...so im wondering if it has caused the front end to lift up a little ? or is 14.5-15inchs alright ? thanks.

for a stockish engine i suspose SU's are the go but imo webbers would be better suited to a mild-heavy worked engine then SU's...just imo.

take off the fuel line too the fuel rail (top one) get a old bottle and put the line into it. And turn the car over, fuel should come out of the line... Some pump work when you turn the car to the on posistion others dont...least mine dont hehe.. other then that check the pulse to injectors with a led light in the end of the injector plug.. it should flash when turning the car over..

could be in the linkage that goes ontop of the manifold.. ?

All that work....and it actually has less hp then a stock 280z does... a stocko l28 in the 280z puts out around 125rhp As others have said these cars are made for side drafts..because of the angle of the ports Triple 50mm webbers might be the go choke them down a little

I know the 280zx Raidator is not alloy. But is it larger then the 240-260z stock one ? if so it might fit straight in

battery, terminals earth leads connections.. switch.... Heaps of things to check

My P90 head has a smaller tb then my N42..also the N42 one has a smaller second butterfly so it has two all up the main one is even bigger then the P90 one... ?

Well just for your interest....i recentally pulled apart a engine that had been never been apart and used constatly for 20+ years and it was nice and clean... If the oil is still nice and thin then i wouldnt bother...personally anyway

My 280zx Fairlady has or had fender mounted mirrors at one stage.. So to my understanding all Fairlady's had the Fender mounted mirrors? 240-260-280's ?

My 79 280zx was all wet inside from the rain... both windows wound down when i got and it had been sitting for 2 years... Dried it out and its fine even the carpet is great not moldy or anything..

Now i was cleaning up the AFM today on the 1981 ZX then i thought might aswell do the TB aswell.. Now that thing is SMALL or what !!! It only has the single butterfly compared to the dual of the 1979 280zx.. So is the 1981 alsways have the single and the 1979 have the double ? The 81 is manual the 79 is auto if that makes a differnce. The 81 also has the P90 (turbo) head on it and the 79 has the n42. So whats going on ?

I got a new battery for the key tag...nothing happens.. what a waste of $2.75 i noticed some wiring missing around the car so i think the p/o might of started doing something and never finshed it ???

you cant make something into something its not.. if you want a v8 get a v8.... you would be better making up a air box custom piping out too the front off the car and put on a nice air filter in the same sorta spot as the 280zx air cleaner..

I have heard rumours of a Sky80 Skyline front end Rb20DET into the S13 Chassis never seen pictures

i think height clearance would be a problem, without taking into the fact it would look ugly

if your going for webbers or similar may i suggest 50mm DCOE's then chock them down to your application.. 10.something is really that high of a compression... Personally i would like a 14-15:1 all motor one day hehehe i love that induction noise

Ok im missing a relay for my 280zx.. the turn singnals wont work and the car wont start without a hot wire. Its a 1981 and the cover is missing so i do not know what relay is for what and if the missing one will solve my problem So does anyone have a scan from there manual illustrating the relays...there is 6 of them in the box.. So can someone help me ?
