  1. TKR514, If you really think a wedding ring or a piece of paper would have necessarily stopped it happening, then perhaps you need to look around you a bit more. Last I knew being married didn't stop breakups or misgivings, and you also think any longterm agreement of a financial nature should only be able to be signed by married couples?:stupid: I think you'll find most people have sympathy as they've been through similar situations, if you don't have sympathy for his financial predicament perhaps you have some for the fact his partner, whom he thought he would become married to in due course has left him and is now with someone else. If not then I don't see the point in attempting to state moral highgrounds.

  3. I'll briefly return to hijacking My first car was a 1978 Chrysler Avenger, cost me $300 1600cc automatic, didn't care about the auto because it was only $300, i used to get in the car by running over the roof, if I was on the passenger side that is. Bit of a silly thing to do but .. I was younger then. :classic:

  5. The combined insurance costs are likely to be in the $4billion area apparently, so no doubt insurance companies are going to try weasle their way out of every possible case. It really is a horrible way to lose your home, and the way the reporters hound the victims of the fire is disgusting as well.
  6. The following is for sale on a local NZ auction site, Kit set Datsun 240Z 1:12 This kit is 1/2 complete, needs finishing and painting. The web address is here; http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/listings/0347-0924-1194-/auction-6665911.htm But if you're too lazy to click links (and who isn't? :classic: ) here's the image. BTW, the current exchange rate is roughly $0.60¢USD buys $1.00NZD
  7. I can sympathise, I've recently been pushed aside by my GF of 3 years, we purchased a car together but I let her keep it, even though I love it, I have 2 cars, didn't make much sense to have a third when she needed one. I miss Nessie, the 1976 Ford Escort MkII, 2 Door.

  13. Yeah, you're right, it does look Ferrari-esque, I was thinking that myself, but yet, not quite but definate similarities.
  14. I'll give the Skyline splice a go, I'll have to find some images in my pile of them so give me some time. But I fear it shall look most disgusting, as much as I love the Skylines, chopping and changing isn't on the cards, the classic ones that is. The Z has a classic somewhat timeless look, hence why it doesn't tend to look out of place on the 180SX rear end. Although each Skyline is pretty decent to look at in it's own right, it isn't really a candidate for front cuts and other such things. I agree, my version doesn't quite look Z enough, and you're right, it must have been a bit subconscious, I was comparing to images of Z's mostly front 3qtr which could also help explain, but my K must have taken over :classic: , the window section on yours looks better and due to it's extra length removes the need to place a rear bumper extension, thus keeping a more classic Z look. However, having said that, I much prefer the slight edge I took of the headlight surround, It's much too harsh a cut to match the smooth lines of the SX rear end and besides, I have to claim some small victory in my 5minutes of photoshopping.
  15. Because of the roundness of the tail section, it almost looks bent and the back. The black glass section probably doesn't help with that, but it's OK.. I wouldn't turn it down, unless it's still got the 4cyl from the 180 in it. It's essentially a sil80 or in this case zed80, zee80.. I hope it's got a good RB series straight 6 under that hood. Also, Gav, I'm guessing it's just Arctic Blue headlight bulbs and the blueness coming through is just refracting through the lens. It could look better with a few slight alterations
  16. The technique that I have used now by habit on all my cars including my 240K is I pull the choke, pump the gas three times and turn it over, I might stretch the gas pedal to 5-7 pumps if it seems especially cold, but it's usually 3. Which means it sometimes goes Click, Wirr, VROOM! or Click, Wirr, Wirr VROOM!
  17. Ahh, I see.. Thanks for the picture, that's probably the closest to them that I've seen, the 160J SSS has similar mirrors that aren't quite the same as well. It shouldn't matter too much anyway, although it'd still be ncie to know, at least the shape of the mirrors should suit the car in any case which is all that really matters.
  18. Ahh, excellent Mr. C, I'll investigate that. Just to make sure, you are meaning the black ones and not the chrome, right? Check my gallery, there's a picture of my brother's old 280ZX, which also had electric fender mirrors., so, I guess I joined you rather than having to beat you :classic:
