		door changes

I know for a fact that here in Australia 2+2 doors changed in late '75 from 'turn style' latch to 'scissor' latch. But can someone confirm or deny if this is also the case in Oz for the 2 seater? thanks Steve

		240z weight

Alloy cages were banned in Australia after 2000, unless a car was log booked with one before that date. I have an alloy half cage in my 240 but the PO still hasn't found the log book :sleepy:

		L24 horsepower

Usual hoops you have to jump through. Each State Gov is different, but 10% Power increase over factory standard is a "modification" and requires an engineer to pass it, same for adding a turbo, multi carbs. Biggest problem is that it could void personal injury insurance.

Ben I reckon every 2nd 240Z in Victoria has a L28 in it . May have to ask some of our friends across the pond for some literature if they start getting narky at rego.

		'Works' hubs

This was a year or more ago, he showed me the two of them zip tied together but I didn't take much interest. From memory I think it was the fact that they are made from a type of magnesium or alloy, so the big advantage I guess would be in unsprung weight. Sounds like this requires a bit more investigation on my part. Alan what type of brake caliper/rotor did they use, vented? I just wonder if you need the right offset brakes and legs to go with the hubs. Steve

		Z racks

Thanks Alan Just trying to decide what to use if I build a new Z rally car. This interested me as my current 1600 rally has 3.2 turns which is really alot of work behind the wheel,I'm told IF I can find a 2.5 works steering box it would be $1000 ! Shorter steering arms if I can find them would be even better. ps Alan I returned your pm but your box is full

		Z racks

Are the steering rack ratios different in a 240Z to a 260Z? My 240 is 2.5 turns lock to lock The 260 is 2.75 Is this the same for everyone else? Steve

List of suitable parts from other makes

1600 handles definately fit, I've used them on my 240 and early 260's. I know 180b don't and wouldn't think 120y do even if they all have the same form. Just looked up the part #'s 1600 is a different # but does fit the early zeds 240z,260z &260z 2+2 up to JUL '76 which all share the same part #'s From AUG '76 the part #'s change as did the door frames. Trumpets

A general rule short ones give better acceleration-use in autocross, rally longer ones give more torque- circuit racing

		Rear Struts

I know with Konis they have a ribbed rod on the end of the insert that you can cut down to fit, or if they are too short we usually chuck a few washers into the strut

		L24 horsepower

From those figures a L 28 could be seen as compairable to a L24 in hp given smog junk. With Vic roads its a lottery who you get. I changed to a 2lt in my 1600 race car, rocked up to the inspection 3.5 camber, twin webers, race seat, stripped interior, climbed out of the rollcage looking at the inspector thinking I haven't got a chance in hell, but he just lifted the bonnet checked the new numbers said nothing. sweet.
