  1. The Jurry that is... McDonald's Stella Awards It's once again time to review the winners of the annual Stella Awards. The Stellas' are named after 81-year old Stella Liebeck who spilled coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald's. That case inspired the Stella Awards for the most frivolous successful lawsuits in the United States. THIS YEAR'S AWARDS GO TO: 5TH PLACE - TIED between two very competitive contestants: Contestant A Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas, was awarded $780,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving toddler was Ms. Robertson's Son. Contestant B A man, 19-year old Carl Truman of Los Angeles, won $74,000 and medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Mr. Truman apparently did not notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal the hubcaps. 4TH PLACE Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas was awarded $14,500--and medical expenses--after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door neighbor's Beagle dog. The Beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. The award was less than sought for because the jury felt the dog might have been a little provoked. At the time, Mr. Williams, who had climbed over the fence into the yard, had been shooting it repeatedly with a pellet gun. 3RD PLACE A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor because Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier, during an argument. 2ND PLACE Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware sued the owner of a Night Club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out two of her front teeth. This occurred whilst Ms. Walton was trying to sneak in the window of the Ladies Room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses. 2004 1ST PLACE Award This year's runaway winner was Mr. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mr. Grazinski purchased a brand new Winnebago Motorhome. On his trip home from an OU football game, having driven onto the freeway, he set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go into the back and make himself a cup of coffee. Not surprisingly, the RV left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mr. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising him in the owner's manual that he could not actually do this. The jury awarded him $1,750,000 plus a new Winnebago Motorhome. The company actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit just in case there were any other complete morons buying their recreational vehicles! Will

  11. Has anybody done any looking into the best Spark plug wires-I know Vicky played around with the manufacturer that advertized the old capacitor issue, but has anybody really found out what is important. I am looking at the old standby, NGK, and trying to narrow down what is really important in a sparkplug wire-any EEs in the house? Will

  13. " What I say is gospel and I'm really good at insulting people", Mr. HLS30.com)....Now thats probably good for a few more inmature insults from are beloved Will. Get a life!!! Isn't Will such the shinning example of a mature and courtious member...we should all be so proud to be associated with him.......Oh, thank you Will for allowing us to be in your company!" The only person proclaiming that I speak the gospel is evidently you, 240ZX, and even there you are entitled to your opinion! I am not good at insulting people, it is something I generally choose not to do. When I do choose to say something insulting, it is always aimed at someone who is a actively being a hypocrit. If you feel that I insulted you, please point out and quote me on even one insult in this thread. I have a life as evidenced by: a wife, a new son, four friends I could call on for anything at any time, A Doctorate, a career, two houses, no mortgage, two vehicles less than 3 years old, two vehicles more than 22 years old, a 15 year old cat, church affiliations, professional organization affiliations, a continuing education teaching affiliation, recurring lunch dates, and investment property in two other states. I believe that gives me a somewhat full life-in just one sentance. That does not prove you wrong, it just substantiates my claim. I am just a man, and my actions prove it. You are free to evaluate your own actions, and change them as you see fit. The only person you are responsable for being proud of is you, and if you aren't, you are the only one to blame. As to being in my company, that too is your choice, I am not standing behind you forcing you to participate in this thread, in fact, I am granting you the respect of inviting you to reply. 14. Oop, and the guys who remembered they forgot the stash in the car! They may want it back enough to come a few blocks for it... Will
  15. Michael, No worrys mate! Here is one on me! "Instigator" is the only name I am calling you, and as I recall, you came up with it. We don't know who you are, and it looks like neither do you...not ment to be a biting remark, just an observation. "Anonyminity is best reserved for genuinely philanthropic gestures, it leaves no room for alterior motives" I said that, Me, just now. "Come on then, have a go!", "You came with nothing', you left with nothing', what did you lose?... Nothing'" Will
  16. OK, what "IS" the sandbox? Will
  17. You don't want that car! Think of all the work, parts to be found, knuckles to be bandaided, Road grit falling in your eyes, rusted fasteners to cut, suprises left from POs, presents lurking under the paint, wiring fopas, the time it takes POR15 to wear off your skin, broken dates, family and friend upset with you because that car is more important, I mean when you put it all in perspective... What did you say the owners phone number was? Will PS, Twin boy, You already have two, and now your crowding my action ?
  18. Michael, I was just yanking your chain ! Obviously too hard-sorry! I knew why, and I marveled at your tenacity, but I still could be stupid :knockedou even though I don't believe otherwise, I mean who cuts out huge chunks of his car, and them posts the proof of his folly ! Instigator, changing the subject still does not give us YOUR TAKE! The mike is open, step into the spotlight and be scrutinized! Will
  19. Btw You make you who you are. You define you, the rest of us just witness the act. Will
  20. Hey Instigator, you have my full attention, what is your take? Or are you just instigating? If it is too easy to comment on something without expressing your opinion, that usually means you recognize you can't support a dissagreeable position-even though you want to vioce it, or you delight in stirring lemming soup while thinking you are on the upper end of the ladle! Rather like people watching in a bar without drinking or being part of a group. Will
  21. What you said! Will

  23. Make it easy for him, order what ever you want, and have it shipped to his hotel, if he is going to be there a coule of weeks, it should be easy for both of you! You might have to work out the payment details(some vendors will not ship to addresses other than the billing address), see if a member in the area will check the parts for you, to be sure any problems don't cross the pond before being found. Will
