  1. The altitude switch, at least on my 78, is located under the dash. However, my car is a US 280Z. I don't know how that would differ from yours. Can you post a picture?
  2. A 240K is a Skyline C110. Neat car but we didn't get them over here. I really think lexguy meant to post this in the 240/260/280Z discussion forum. I which case a 73 240Z with the description above is not worth 3K IMO.
  3. I would start by losing the SplitFires and replacing them with the proprer NGK's (JMO)
  4. Congratulations! Are you the announcer for the Hooters Pro Cup on Speed Channel? If so, in the immortal words of Johnny Carson, "I did not know that."
  5. Here are two scans of the two relay locations for a 77-78. I don't know of one called specifically the 'accessory' relay. Might you be referring to the ignition relay? The only other relays not show here are the floor temp sensor relay and the brake warning lamp check relay. What is the number on the side of the relay you bought? If it's 25230-89958 that's the ign relay.
  6. Got pictures?
  7. I have the MSA covers on my 78. At first I used the double sided adhesive tabs that come with them to affix the mounting tabs. They eventually came loose and I ended up drilling holes for them. If I had it to do again I would have used 3M double sided mounting tape. I have used that for emblems and properly installed it never comes loose unless you purposely pull it off. It's the dark grey stuff that is available at NAPA. That stuff comes in such a huge roll that I still have plenty of it and I purchased it 5 years ago!

The auction ended today and the winner got it for $2331. At that price I would have taken it.
  9. No, it's the later unit from the 260/280Z Fairlady
  10. It's gone! And Will is right.
  11. I beileve that the other letters were only on the dealer invoices.
  12. Lots of inaccuracies on that chart. The gear ratios are different that what my FSM shows. The ZX trannys may have the higher mounting ears but the Maxima trannys don't. All of which is quite moot since the 79 trans was the only one in question.
  13. The 'A' box is the early one with Porsche type synchros. The shift lever bolts on from underneath. The 'B' box has the shift lever held in place by bushings, pin and an 'e' clip.
  14. The site you've chosen to post the question on? (Sorry, I couldn't resist)
  15. I know that, it's just a typo or a brain fart. I'll fix it. My point was that the S30 part applies to all Zs, 240-260-280.
  16. Actually an HLS30 is any LHD Z from 69(70)-78 with the exception of the 74 260Z (RLS30).
  17. Those are the shipping hooks. I believe all Zs had them originally. They are removable.
  18. That's true except for the 'A-B' thing. The A box was an eariler trans which we never got here in the US in a Z and has nothing to do with the 75-83 transmissions which are all B boxes. The FS5C71A trans was found here in the 67-70 2000 Roadster and non-US Z cars through 74. The 75-79 FS5W71B had an .864 5th gear while the 80-83 FS5W71B had a .752 fifth gear. Second and third gear were also slightly different ratios.
  19. I've never heard anything about a 79 tranny being any better or worse than any other in the 75-83 range. Lots of people are running the N47 head with carbs. I've never done one myself but I don't see where there would be a problem.

Read the thread. It's way beyond that. Why don't we just let it rest? She's not coming back as Midwest Z. Let it go!
  21. It'll die, as it should, if no one comments on its subject matter. But, then again, it's originator didn't really die either.
  22. I speak fluent 280 but I think you are speaking 280ZX because there is no idler pulley under the hood of my 78. EDIT: Okay I'm probably wrong. My car has aftermarket air. Maybe the ones with factory air have an idler pulley.
  23. Is that a C10 or a C110?
  24. Joe, how's that 810 coming along?
