  1. Hello nota280, do you have any pics of your old 73 Fairady Z? I would love to see some pics of it. Take care, Ben
  2. My Z broke down today. I was driving on the freeway today and the engine was jolting and it was loosing power, then the engine stalled on the freeway. All my gauges read said that everything was normal. I pulled over, popped the hood, and looked for anything out of the ordinary, but everything looked okay on the surface. I then started the car, and it started right up like a champ. About 10 miles later the car started jolting again and I had no power. I pulled over and called AAA. The only thing I can think of is the clutch, but I am not certain. What does this sound like to you guys? Oh well, she is in the hands of my mechanic now. My Z has never broken down. I shouldn't complain, the head has never been off and I have not had any major problems before. I just hope it is nothing major, but I have a feeling that it is. By the way, I don't abuse it either. I warm the car up everytime I start it and I don't rev the engine high. I am still wondering what the problem was. I will tell you guys when I get it back. Hopefully that is soon. Ben
  3. Very nice, it better be like new for that price. I didn't know that they would ever fetch that high. I thought they went for a little over half that. This one must have never been driven. Personally I like the white GT-R with the PHAT Watanabes:D . This is a very nice car. I am sure you will have one someday, but for now, transplant an s20 into your car.hehehehe. That would be a lot too. How is your GT-R project coming along Alfa? Take care, Ben

I am a little late on the bandwagon here, but I too noticed the falacy that this magazine/journal is informing to people. The problem with this kind of thing is that if this keeps happening the true Z story is going to be forgotton. First it was the Goertz myth and now it is s30 cars painted with the rally scheme being deamed works cars. I am sorry, but the car in that article is a nice car, but there is nothing works about it. The writers of VRJ say that it is so cfivilized. That is because it is all ROAD car!!! Maybe I should put four cibies on my bumper, paint my hood and top side of fenders semigloss black, and slap some numbers on my car and say it was the only blue works car!!! I partly feel bad for th VRJ because they are caught up in the mess now. However, the car that they did the story on is EXTREMELY different from the works cars in the picture. They should have realized that when they saw the modern cd player installed! This is a problem that needs to be adressed because it is disheartening that the Z does not get the real credit it should. I really hope you write a book on the Works cars Alan. For some reason I got that feeling from one of your earlier threads. Thank you sblake, 26th, and HS30-H for writing VRJ about this. You guys are Z car history heros. -Ben p.s. Guus, your car is ten times better of a works replica that the Z in VRJ. As far as I am concerned as Alan said is that the car in the mag in is not a replica. It is a fake!!!
  5. I don't think that would be a problem Canton. As long as they are enthusiastic about s30-cars. What do the rest of you guys think about this? P.S. Do they have 86's or 240sx's?:classic:
  6. That meeting place sounds good to me. We have a while so we can figure out a time later. See you guys soon. I second your last sentence stryder. -Ben
  7. I believe this is the pillar emblem that would be seen on an early home market car. I really do hope that this car gets a proper home and a proper resoration. It would be a shame if it became a parts car. Take care, Ben
  8. It was a 2ltr straight 6, L-series. However, there was a L24 offered as well, the car was known as the Fairlady 240z. There was never a Z with a 4 cylinder, they were always straight 6's.

  10. I am sure this is not the end of the road for this car. It just needs extreme tlc. If I had the time, money, and know how I would snatch this car, but I don't. I would hate to see this car go to the junkyard . 2manyzs, you should take it. I know you are interested in the Fairlady Z's and you definately have the know how to give this car the glory it deserves. Your kyosho collection told me so. :stupid: -Ben
  11. Hello everyone, That is too bad that you can't go Craig. I am sure that there will be another meet in the near future. Okay, here is the directions. http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=oYYXW.p_0TrH3g0Xw0TjPwaQYY8wfA--&csz=Danville%2C+CA+94526&country=us&mag=8&name=Mt+Diablo+National+Bank&desc=%28925%29+743-9200 Where do you guys want to meet before driving up Mt. Diablo? I was thinking afterwards we could get a cheap lunch somewhere. Anyways, I am getting excited. Talk to you soon, -Ben
  12. Okay everyone, 280z and I are setting up a meet on sunday the 21st of this month(march). We have the date now we need to see who else is interested and able to meet. We were thinking of a drive on mt. diablo(danville). We are open for suggestions if you have a better place, but I think this would be an awesome drive if the weather permits. I know it would be a little far for some people so post your comments. Lets see who can meet. Post here!!! Tell your Z buds too!!! This would be cool if we could have a meet once a month(optomistic thinking). -Ben
  13. I don't want to admit that I like this since I classify myself pretty much as a Z purist, but the z looks pretty cool in convertible form. Make sure you post pics if you do this to your car. I think it would be really cool to make a z that is otherwise completely stock except the chopped top. It would look as if the Z came as a spyder as well as a gt coupe. here is a link. http://www.zparts.com/ads/zspider/zspider_index1.html Take care and good luck with this jhw227, Ben
  14. I'll keep you posted stryder. -Ben
  15. I am pretty sure you are right Alfa as I have never seen one of these with an S20. I was asking dhoneycutt if his was a GTR. I am a skyline newbie, so I don't know a whole lot about them. I am still trying to learn about the Z. Hehehehe. -Ben
  16. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6472&item=2464795902 I saw this. Quite interesting and rare on these shores. -Ben

  18. I would be up for that. Make the date Craig. Ben:classic:
  19. This comp is being screwy... here is the pic. How do I delete posts? I checked the little box and then I click delete, but it says that I do not have permission to do this.
  20. s130 with 16 inch wats. I can't attach pictures for some reason. Go to this site and scroll to s130. http://www.rs-watanabe.co.jp/index2.htm
  21. There are not many old jdm wheel options in 16 inch as you mentioned. hehehe, your best bet for 16 inch jdm wheels with no spacers would be watanabe's. I know you are not into those, but maybe you will like these photos. I really like the flower wheels, ssr reverse mesh too. You would have a better chance if you went for a 15 inch. I am glad there are people like you and me and many of the people on this forum that like jdm wheels. Even if it is not a option part, they are still awesome and true to the cars for period correctness and cooool factor. However, I am not saying that there is anything wrong with american wheels or their period correctness. The mags on my car now are american and they are right from the dealer in 1974. It doesnt get much more period correct than that. They look good too!! MHO Anyways, I hope this helps Yuppie. You got to admit that these s130's look pretty good sporting the Watanabe's. Regards, Ben p.s. awe, no more 432:cry:
  22. Yuppie, you really have a grudge against Watanabe wheels. Well I am sorry, but a lot of us like these wheels. They are the mags for the Z of Japan. The great thing about these wheels that make them so correct for the period and for a Z is that the 14" Watanabe's with various widthes were on the sports parts option list offered by Nissan. Take care, Ben P.S. I am never going to post again so I can keep this post number forever. HeheheheLOL LOL. In the future people will not get this so, 432 baby!!!
