  1. yep , stainless from the extractors back, they use their own brand mufflers, i dont know how they can quiet a car right down while keeping the flow of a regular straight through system. ill give it a try, we'll see what happens.
  2. just got a quote from lambros hi-tech mufflers for a full 2.5 inche mandrel system with two hi-tech brand mufflers 880 AUS. they reckon they can keep it quiet while maintaining the flow of my current straight through system. what do you think?
  3. so having a straight through offset muffler under the tailshaft instead of a resonator will quiet things down?
  4. its an off set straight through, redback i think. would there be much difference in flow with a proper baffled muffler?
  5. yeah its a good idea, it will give you more power up high as long as your intake setup can supply the air and fuel needed with the bigger capacity. though if your going to that sort of trouble you should use an l28 engine and bore that out.
  6. i might take you up on that, im going on holidays to california in august.
  7. hmmm, might be a bit expensive to import small amounts from the states?
  8. gday guys, the exhaust on my car is a 2 1/2 inch steam bent with one resonator and a straight through glasspack muffler. needless to say its louder than a jet plane im looking for a system that has a similar flow capacity but is ALOT quieter, any suggestions?
  9. yeah our beers good, but i gotta hand it to the yanks, samuel addams beats anything weve got!
  10. do a search for clutch fans on the forums, im pretty sure weve had a discussion about this before
  11. ROFL challenge accepted!
  12. no worries, i just checked the web site and its next wednesday anyway! that was lucky i would of rocked up there and the place would of been empty.
  13. and you'll need 240 rods and flat top pistons to get some sort of usable compression.
  14. the L26 is stroked. putting in L28 pistons gives 2569cc ( of the L engine calculator)
  15. the carpet on the floor right behind the seats should extend to underneath the seats. its shaped to the floor of the car. it might be hard to find new carpet mats to fit.
  16. you should have sound deadening material and carpeting under there, it starts from behind the seat, is there any carpet behind the seat?
  17. no worries, i was always under the assumption they had the RB30ET, but dont know. you should be able to get the LSD from Warren at AllZed, i spoke to him about it about a year ago and he had a couple.
  18. Gav240z, The diff is out of an R31 Skyline GTS. its a straight fit but they are pretty rare.
  19. ROFL sounds good im still deciding wether or not to do the pre drag burnout, somethin your car will be able to do nicely by the looks of it!
  20. cool, now that ive got an LSD you can watch me break my gearbox!
  21. hey george im running my zed at the eastern creek drags this coming wednesday, if you get it rego'd ill give you a run! somehow i think you'll just beat me though! oh yeah the stress fractures? are they at the top of the c pillars? if they are then most zed's have em.
  22. it still may be your tailshaft out of balance, mine went wildly out of balance a few months back, and kept getting worse and worse until the car was undrivable over 50mph
  23. if your R200 is out of a pre Z31 then it wont be LSD, to my knowledge only in the late 80's were R200 LSD's produced. these days, with so many conversions and mod's you wont know what youve got until you open it up and have a look. 260 and 280z's came with non LSD R200's, the 240Z had a non LSD R180.
  24. this orange 240z thing better not jinx anyone. i have to drive mine home from work now.
