  1. awesome:love: only problem is they wont ship outside the US:disappoin . ill figure something out, my current grille is an eyesore. oops this is way off topic.why isnt yours on car yet?
  2. hey 2many, what does this grill look like?
  3. If your going to hone the cylinders, put some 89 mm pistons in there.
  4. yep thats good strong pressure. those oil pressure units clog up pretty easily and give low readings, and they are pretty inaccurrate. i have a turbo oil pump in mine and the gauge reads 40 PSI at 1000RPM, which cant be right.
  5. hey gav ive heard the same bang. turns out the water jacket near cyl 6 corroded into the combustion chamber whcih in turn stuffed the gasket (which i assume went BANG) and created compression in the coolant system. also check your oil breather on top of the cam cover. if its chuffing white smoke, then its time for a new gasket/ major head repairs:disappoin
  6. does anyone know the thread type and size of the oil pressure sender unit on an L series? also where can i get a t-piece to fit into the block here?
  7. if you cant reach it through the glovebox you will have to remove the console facia. take out your stereo, remove the four front screws, pull the facia forward and remove four screws in the back of it thats holds the heater controls on. disconnect the fan switch and out it comes. there is one vertical bolt that holds the gauge in. remove it, disconnect the wires into the back of the gauge and pop the gauge out. its a pain in the a$$.
  8. hi guys, i have booked the track at wakefield Park, Goulbourn on wednesday the 22nd of October, for a "driver training day" aka thrash the guts out of your car day. it should be about a hundred bucks each to run your car. the idea being to run your car around the track at your own pace and explore the limits of your car. ill have my 240 there and there should be a few other zeds in attendance as well as a mix from corollas to Skyline GTR's we keep the numbers down to about 30 to 40 cars for the day so its not crowded. i have organised several of these before and they are always a blast so if anyone is interested email me and ill send out forms when they are done (end of week) Brett.Smith@rohlig.com.au cheers, Brett
  9. gday geoff, plenty of fun but i managed to get some shopping done! there are alot more zeds in california than aus. i dont know if it was any of you guys on the forum here but a guy in a blue 240 in Arcata California put on a nice tyre smoking display leaving a carpark after i commented on his car:D i spent some time wondering aimlessly around sanfran sisco trying to find StrictlyZ but to no avail. managed to get some K&N's for my new injection manifold, an oil pressure gauge and a few other bits and pieces, its weird to see a 240 with the steering wheel on the other side!
  10. ozzy PM'd
  11. thanks sjcurtis, its probably more likely that the plate came off becouse of an accident before i owned it.
  12. gday george, i used to race these things for a few years in a class called RESA light. awesome stuff but the expenses eventually got to me. do you have an engine yet? i'd suggest a yamaha clubman engine if you are running 100cc they are really easy to keep in tune and its one of the most competitive classes in aus and are a blast to drive. the quicker engines are difficult to keep on tune with out running to rich and losing power or running to lean and seizing. i used to burn my engine about 5 times a year and they arent cheap to rebuild. cheers, Brett
  13. hey guys, thanks for your help, sjcurtis, my car doesnt have a compliance plate, never had one. when were compulsery compliance plates introduced in aus? i know it was 73 but not sure when exactly. if it was the start of 73 then mine must have landed in Aus smack on around thats time and missed having to be complied. cheers, Brett
  14. ok engine number L24- 143146
  15. ok hang on ill run out and have a look.
  16. im trying to figure out the build date on my car, can anyone help me out? chassis number is HS30-100840 cheers, Brett
  17. hey gav, im pretty sure stewart wilkins rallying has one in sydney. i think sjcurtis is right on that one, not locally imported into Aus.
  18. icice9, thanks for thatill be in california from the 8th till the 22nd but only in san fran from th 20th onwards when is the show on, id love to see some american zeds.
  19. Icice9, ill be in san fran for a couple of days in august hovering near the airport, how far is strictly z from this area?
  20. bummer about that george, those SPARCO belts are at Race and Rally near Chullora they are awesome quality and woth it in the end as you can where them all the time, its just the cost thats the clincher, i have some saving to do.
  21. the R200 case out of the R31 is the same, i got mine with no plates ro connect the half shafts to (sorry i cant remeber what they are called:stupid: ) so i had the ones off my old R200 put on by a diff specialist, this could be the only difference. remeber its the R31 skyline GTS the boxy one that came to Aus
  22. i thought that might be the case. see what your engineer says about the legality of them on the street. If you get pulled over by a cop and he wants to be a ba#$%rd he can defect you for not having ADR approved belts. you can get around this by leaving in your original seat belt as well, check out G260's gallery, geoff has this setup though im not sure if there are any pictures of it in there.
  23. thanks george, are those belts ADR approved? ive only found one set that are , SPARCO belts but they are worth around 600 bucks just for one side.
  24. last time i spoke to him they were about a grand, they go straight in, half shafts and all. they look identical to the non LSD r200's. they come out of R31 skylines GTS's.
