Dogleg area metal repair
Thanks guys. Of course I lost my new Blair spot weld cutter today. Seems everything I touch on this car is a project. But at least once it's done it's done.

Dogleg area metal repair
After doing some major reconstructive surgery to the under fender area I'm off to replacing the rocker and dogleg areas. Does anyone have a picture of how it's supposed to look in the rear dogleg area?

Home Built Z 'Full video build'
I never heard them before but that rocks and is now required music on every Datsun video! That Japanese song is great too. Thanks!

Home Built Z 'Full video build'
Jeff I absolutely love your work and determination to get these cars going. The workmanship is first class. One thing that bugs the crap out of me is the bumper music you chose. Is this a rave for 19 year old girls or a real man's show about building awesome cars? Get some AC/DC or guitar based stuff not that techno garbage. I see your wife (you're punching way above your class) is in a lot of your vids, maybe she chose the music. Sorry for the rant but that type of music is slowly taking over the world because no one is paying attention and real people who have the talent to play instruments are losing work. Otherwise I'm envious of what you've accomplished and keep up the videos. I even like the home repair ones.

Z Cars On TV And In Movies
In Cars 2 there are at least 5 S30's in the background When they go to the Japan Grand Prix. The gongs in the opening ceremony are Datsun hubcaps.

Wharton Nissan has new Datsun parts
I called and talked to Mike the parts manager. He said his phone has been blowing up. He sent me a comprehensive list but I can't cross reference the numbers to the carpartsmanual site bucease they don't match. I also use Tascaparts as a reference but they aren't there either.

Wow how did you find this out?

Wiper arm linkage assembly parts
Yes I had everything off. my pivots were terrible and took about 10ftlb of force to turn. I cleaned/painted/regreased and now they're like butter. I'm sure about 99% of Z owners don't know about that and it would be a real gotcha of the judges held back points for that. I made new rubber parts to go between the sheetmetal and the pivots too.

Wiper arm linkage assembly parts
Thanks Cap'n! That's exactly what I wanted to know. I know about the one more wipe feature but never knew about that. I don't care one lick about it so back it goes. The clean one is the original and I'll pack it well with grease. I have already cleaned and repainted all parts. I'm reusing the rubber that goes over this assembly as mine's not bad. I did get new ones that go over the arm shafts.

Wiper arm linkage assembly parts
I'm rebuilding my whole mechanical assembly and have a question about the spring in the main crank. What's it for and how does it work? I can't figure out if it's in torsion or compression. It's just laying between the sheet metal part the looks like the millennium falcon and a flat washer. It looks like there's a hooked end that's worn off that maybe fits in the slot. Anyone know? I have a spare one and it's the same except for a plastic ring around the spring.

60 and 65 profile pics please?
That's what I thought too when I bought them but according to BFG 6" is the minimum width for that size. I take some hard corners and they are rock solid. Eventually I'll get 16" wheels but the Appliance's were free.

60 and 65 profile pics please?
I'm running 225/60-14 on 6" wide vintage Appliance wheels. It's the biggest 14" tire that matches OE diameter. They fill in the wells nicely and handle great compared to 195's.

Anybody seen this one yet
That's hideous! Yea they must have spent a fortune on that paint but this represents everything I hate about "customizers" and their ideas of how a car should be.

Battery not charging with new 60A internal regulator alternator
Well I found the squeak origin. The belt was loose

Nissan Factory restoration cars
I missed that fact. That devalues it even more IMO. I do wish these cars would spike and stay up like other classics but the market still hasn't "found" them.

Nissan Factory restoration cars
For 70k the dealer is having a wet dream. 1997, 27k is about 41k in todays dollars. It is worth 40k over initial cost? It's supply/demand I guess and how valuable a factory authorized (not performed like Porsche does) resoration is to the buyer. Fine examples of 70/71 cars can be gotten for way less. It is beautiful though. That said, the Z432 that sold for over 250k was surprising but not unexpected since there were so few made (about 20) and they were truly special cars.

WTB 70-73 power antenna parts
yea I know Someone had taken it apart years ago and never put it back. Too bad about my mast since it has the original bullet tip.

Harada Power Antenna Teardown Guidance
I'm just doing this now. When I took mine out I found that the cover was off and mast was broken. So I'm looking for parts. If you have any spare stuff left over I could use it.

I'm trying to refurbish mine but the mast is broken and half the internals are missing.

Stock tire choices...what do you like?
I'm running BFG T/A 225/60 14. They are the widest 14" tire wth the same circumference as stock. Unfortunately they are the only MFR who makes that size so no other options. I got a set of Appliance wheels free and wanted to stick with 14.

rear brake cylinders on 70-72 compared to 73-74
Guys one of my cylinders has a leak at the fitting because I had to drill out the old one and retap it. What are the real differences in early to later because the replacements are well over $100 where later units are much less. They look exactly the same.
