  1. Thank you for this, saves me a lot of time. John have you ever dealt with Fairlady Z suspension? the 2+2 i'm parting is a '75 Fairlady, I'm assuming it's the same as a 280z but I guess I'll find out once I remove it.
  2. I haven't been able to find much on this topic, but I do have a 2+2 parts car out of which I would like to salvage the A-arms as my '70 a arms are beat up. Anyway if anyone has any info on this please share.
  3. I was going to ask $100 for the wheels, between the carbs and rear tails I should be able to make my money back on the car and maybe trade for some other parts I need/want, then I 'll take off what I want, and the rest is free to a good home (well to the first trailer that shows up at my house anyway). That car show looks awesome, I didn't hear about it at all, I'll be there next year, hopefully with the '70!
  4. Yeah, definitely a shame, but hopefully parts of it can go onto live in another car. I paid him 500 total and he delivered it to my house. I basically want the grill, front turn signals, transmission, rear diff, and the gauges, everything else is for sale. Let me know if you need anything, I'd love to meet other Z members in the area anyway. -cheers
  5. Came across 75 Fairlady Z 2+2. It is in horrible condition unfortunately, and it does not have a title, so I will most likely just use it for parts. Anyway is there a place where i can get technical specs on this car? It's definitely been tinkered with in Japan, it has a F.E.T manifold, tripple webers, and what looks like fujitsubo exhaust (twice pipes all the way to the back), but it still has the L20, the head is E88?? I thought they ran E30 heads? The transmission is 5 speed?? Does anyone know of a spec sheet on fairladies from factory? Thanks!
  6. personally I do not have any experience with this, but I work in an international company, and a German colleague just bought a Ford Torino GT that he is taking back to germany with him in September, I'll try to get some info for you as to who to contact or what to arrange for shipping. Where in germany are you moving to? Remember, Germany is worse than california with car inspections! Good luck
  7. c'mon guys, someone should pick this up. Seems like it has some "custom" work done to it, but you can buy quarter panels and fenders. Assuming the frame rails and floor pans are in good shape, the car is in much better shape than mine, just needs someone to put some work into it. Well worth 2k in my opinion.
  8. welcome, looks like a great car to start with!
  9. is the 4x114.3 lug pattern also available at the sale price?
  10. I got a fwd, light, low center of gravity car .
  11. Well, any car whether it's 4wd or 2wd, fwd or rwd will slide when one locks up the brakes, i think the idea of using a fwd or awd car in the cold weather conditions is that understeer is easily predicted compared to over steer and one can do more to prevent it. Even thou oversteer is easier to correct.
  12. wish you had told me that a couple of weeks ago everyone told me i should get fwd or awd around here, I know it's not bad for a decent driver, perhaps I was overly cautious. Plus the car I bought is boring enough to where I won't want to put money into it, meaning the Z fund is going to be larger!
  13. Yeah I skimmed the article with excitement, and didn't read carefully. I read that it was suppose to compete with the FR-S so I assumed it would be rear wheel drive. I'd really like nissan to come out with a proper fun to drive inexpensive sports car just like the Z was back in the 70s, the FR-S is damn near all that, only reason i didn't buy it when I was shopping for a new car, is that I just moved north, have 0 experience driving in snow and did not want to compound that with rear wheel drive.
  14. http://www.motortrend.com/future/future_vehicles/1207_nissan_working_on_mini_z_to_target_frs_brz/ Not too crazy about the styling, but I do like that Nissan is going back to small affordable fun quality cars!
  15. If you are interested, I have access and training in ProE, CATIA, and Solidworks. I could make a 3D model and provide detailed drawings.
  16. yes please share some pictures of your installation. How does the ride comapare to drop springs (eibach, tokico, etc.)?
  17. spitz, that car is gorgeous, I love the direction you took it. I am still at the before stage...
  18. how i wish that was a series 1 hatch!
  19. I'm not sure about the 72, I bought one for my 70 and the shaft that connects to the clutch pedal was shorter, so I simply changed out the one from my old MC to the new one, it's really simple to do. There is also the option of buying a rebuild kit and rebuilding your original unit
  20. The rear profile of the car reminds me so much of a Z car, fellow z car buddy has one in Huntsville, and it looks spectacular Z4 ///M Coupe powerful naturally aspirated inline 6 too!
  21. yup, I don't post there often anymore thou, I have actually been neglecting ole Heidi in spite of the newly pick up Z. thinking about it now, she is going to get some love this weekend!
  22. looks good, this is off topic a bit, but were those fins on the roof suppose to help with the turbulence at the rear of the car?
  23. My daily is an E34 '95 540i 6spd I absolutely love the car!!!
  24. it doesn't seem to transition smoothly into the fenders compared to the type I or type II air dams it seems square on the edges, I do like the brake ducts or fog light holes. I'd like to see it with some flares and wide wheels
