July Fast Fours Mag
It's a pretty nice car, eh? I'm still getting over what he's done to the dash though. I think the zed has one of the nicest modern dashes around, but that remodelling is pretty awful. It's obviously been done so he could "plug and play" with the dials, but it sure ain't for me..

List of suitable parts from other makes
Two people typing at the same time :classic: If that's true - I'll be raiding my mates 1600 parts stash for some better handles, mine are stuffed!! Nice one HKSZ..

List of suitable parts from other makes
what are you saying Bambi? :classic: The differences between 1600 handles and zed handles was pointed out to me by a "reputable" person associated with zeds in Melbourne some years ago. It was a long time ago, but I seem to remember that the length + rear mounts were different. I'm not saying they don't fit, it was just pointed out to me that they are different. Now maybe there were more than 1 type of 1600 (etc) handle? I'm sure not a 510 expert.. My call was to ask if anyone has actually done the swap, or is it just heresay based on the fact that the handles look similar? I've heard that 280zx radiators fit in 240's - but you have to file out the holes to get them in. The benefit is that the ZX has more cores and hence better cooling capacity.

I've held them up next to each other. They are NOT the same. Has anyone actually used 1600 / 120Y / 180B handles, or has this just stemmed from the fact that they look externally similar?

Brisbane Z Car Club Cruise this Sat!
It was nice to see everyone on the cruise today. Whilst there wasn't exactly a HUGE turnout I hope people enjoyed it. Dazza, I wasn't aware that you were there despite the fact I drove behind you for nearly the whole time! I didn't put 2 and 2 together..:stupid: Love your car by the way.. ...and Moyest, why not some interior shots in your gallery? People can check out your custom leather, triple webbers etc! To those that didn't show, maybe next time?

L24 horsepower
Like someone from Vicroads would know it's a 2.8!! If you want the lower output of the 2, I'd go the 280C - asthmatic head, single carb.. blah blah blah.

Brisbane Z Car Club Cruise this Sat!
The pace will be cruisey (that last one was) and I'll have my camera again. One of the best parts is checking out the other cars before the whole thing gets going. I have to turn up in the 'rolla because the zed is still in Melbourne. Every time my Dad goes to start her she won't turn over so the movers can't get her on the truck. I went back to MElbourne last weekend to sort all the problems out with the little b*tch and she started first time!! Drove her round for a bit with no problems so asked my father to send her up for me this week. He put they key in on Wed and sure enough.. click click.. Nuthin'. Maybe she's trying to tell me something? It's actually get rather lonely without her..it's been nearly 9 months!!!

Brisbane Z Car Club Cruise this Sat!
That would be the one:classic: He parks it near JB HiFi every weekday. There were HEAPS of z's when I went last time, most of which were 240/260's.. If you check my gallery you'll get a fair idea, that said, in most of the shots I couldn't get NEARLY half the cars in! ..and if you join the club there's a dyno night in about 3 weeks (rubs hands). Simon's car was on the cruise last time too. I don't think I've ever seen so much chrome on a Jap car! Who did your bumpers by the way??

Brisbane Z Car Club Cruise this Sat!
Aw c'mon.. I live on Chevron Island and I'll be going. AND I don't have my car in QLD yet so I'll have to go in the $&^#ing Corolla and you still won't stop me!! Love to see your car some time. Have you seen the really nice Kalahari Tan one getting around?

Opinions/Knowledge on Triple SU's
I've got a mate who has 3 SU's on his 260 2+2. He loves 'em.. and it did make a difference on the amount of power the car had. I'd be looking on Jag sites to see if the "correct" way of doing it is to have 2 lefts and a right, or the other way 'round.

OT - Really bad riced up cars
Ye gods. That Star Wars car is hilarious. I wonder if he knows that people aren't laughing WITH him?

OT - Really bad riced up cars
I love looking at people who "improve" their car by adding on useless crap.. and here is a great link to some of them! RICE

both seats with lever on the right?
I don't think the drivers seat is original. If you think about it, in many cases the drivers seat get a lot of abuse (because it always has a butt on it!!!) but a passenger seat can be left relatively untouched. Me thinks someone has had a worn-out drivers seat and at some point replaced it with a good passenger seat from another car.

350z v 240z - Alan
I'll have to read the article again, but I got the feeling that despite the 240z v 350z theme, he really didn't compare the two cars per se. It was more a discussion about the 240 abutted with a summary of the features of a 350. This also happened in a magazine article here in Australia fairly recently where they claimed on the front to have a "vs" type comparison, but again merely just did a summary of the two cars and smacked 'em together. I notice that you said that they sat on the article for a while. A few months before they had a "coming next month" type page in the mag which advertised the comparison - and it did not appear. That explains it then! So have they done the photoshoot on your car yet Alan, or are they waiting until a later date? If later, maybe they could do a comparison between a UK-delivered Z, a ZG and your 432R replica? Now THAT would be interesting reading. I remember when those classic car mags used to do articles where they compared (say) a MK I, II, III & IV Spitfire with each other. Wouldn't it be great if they compared a 240, 260, 260 2+2 and a ZG? I guess this might not have the readership interest though. Have any english magazines done these types of comparison before??? I guess it must have been done in Japan, but in an English speaking country? There was that one last year in OZ, but that was more of a "timeline" type article. Enough of my rambling..

350z v 240z - Alan
So Alan, when were you going to announce the fact that you were in the June Classic and Sportscar? Did you have to set the journo on the straight and narrow on the Goertz myth? Shame they didn't have a bigger pic of your lovely ZG...

Z Mag Articles
I don't have those original mags, but I have got some ye olde American ones I picked up at a market. You can come by and copy them if you want. I also have a 260C/240c/200C parts manual if that would be of use. I don't know if the bits from them transfer to a K?

Oh no.. really? You were about 5-10 minutes away. :stupid: Sometimes the Prince Skylines come up for sale in Melbourne as there is a register down there as part of the NDSOA. Maybe you could email Shannons and tell em you're really interested in buying it and could they send some photos to you before you make the journey down?
