Rocker Geometry Woes
My N47 had .160"s I'm 99.9% sure. I can measure them later to be sure, for what that's worth (I don't know).

Would Nissan have used a similar product at assembly? The sprocket being out of time with the crank gear has me thinking it's been off before (the head) but they didn't update the valve seats and it was set to #1 hole so I'm not sure. That's what I did. I used the hood latch housing to hold the rear of the motor up until the hoist was holding the weight of the block.

Redline Diff Oil Question
Mine was the plain 75w90, there was no NS on the bottle. And amazon.com was the best deal a couple of years ago too.

'72 240Z Rebuild
All done with the removal part. Now that the cam sprocket is off, TDC lines up with the right mark on the pulley and the oil pump spindle is at 11:25. The sprocket was off a link or so after all. I scratched around the valves seats and they look brass so I'm assuming they're bronze. It had a Nissan clutch that was worn down pretty bad too. I can't decide if this motor's been worked on or not. The head gasket was covered with copper looking paint, what does that mean?

I know that I've absorbed some stray neutrons into my cerebellum, fear and pleasure responses are backwards now. What used to make me happy scares the $^!# out of me. HaHa! That was a dirt dauber's mansion under my exhaust manifold. I'm hoping to get about 2" of concrete poured over the entire garage when I get my foundation firmed up. Just started that project too, 20 ton bottle jack and some screw jacks and a lot of digging. I do better when I have multiple projects going on at the same time.

Zcon Roll Call
You'll get a $100 t-shirt like I almost did. I was thinking you had to register but I booked straight through with the Hilton, $119 a night for Friday and Saturday. I think the last club event is Thursday nights riverboat ride then an awards presentation Saturday night? I may have to sneak in.

'72 240Z Rebuild
It's a 2" for sure. It's tight though, I didn't even have the clamp tightened. I'm getting practice on removing heads the right way. It's going to be completely torn out and down maybe today. Thanks for the info on that rusty color on the walls, I did not know that was the reason. It sat for 6 years.

" So I haven't been truly indoctrinated to the pin zed club." You lucky bastard. Australian table wine taste like an aborigine's armpit? Some of these Kwik-E-Marts around here have that armpit smell taste like Apu's.

Eurodat can tell you, I'm sure. He's on here early in the mornings.

'72 240Z Rebuild
It's a 2" or something, I'll make sure in the morning and post the size. That works way better than a baggie and tape. Even Carl Beck noticed that a few years ago when I rebuilt my 1st Z. He told someone that was hauling their car on a U-Haul type that holds the front tires only to remove the drive shaft and use that cap on the transmission for a long trip. In the morning, I promise, I'm not about to go back down there now that I'm clean. It was a couple of dollars at Lowes.

Here they are.

'72 240Z Rebuild
I'm on schedule but will be as sore as ever. I decided to drop the transmission onto a motorcycle jack I've used before for holding it to roll around while I pressure washed it. BAD idea for my 50 plus years old cracked up to hell garage floor. Getting my Dad's cherry picker tomorrow to pull the block out. I can't believe I wouldn't wait and get them both together. Stupid mistake I'll never repeat. This time I'm making a pile throughout the day then going back and bagging and boxing up everything in the evenings. Seems to be a lot less worrisome. RossiZ I have my console out so if I can take some measurements or pictures just let me know.

Rocker Geometry Woes
I weighed mine by grinding the nose down and told them that in my message. Out of 2 heads I ended up with 12 S30s. The P79 had a couple of Beck Arnley looking rockers that weighed about 5 more grams, they were a lot beefier looking like these. I got mine back after a week and they look fantastic. $36 plus $14 shipping.

My Mom thought that was the duck walking Peabody. She doesn't get out much, thinks there's only 1 hotel in Memphis.

I'm paid up now. $275 for 2 nights. When I went to register for the event I realized all the fun stuff is earlier in the week so I passed on that. $100 registration fee to save $20 on room rates and a T-shirt, no thanks, I'm in the middle of a rebuild.

240Z Makes Buy-'em-Now List
Okay, now I'm curious. I've watched a lot of television and movies in my life and have a pretty good memory but some things don't click right away when I have something on my mind. Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack, The Jerk and The Holy Grail were what grew up with. "the way y'all are lollygagging around here you'd think it was a hunnert and semteen degrees. Can't be but a hunnert and twelve."

Annoying/frustrating No Start Condition
I quit reading zcar.com when a frequent poster that blasted anybody that asked for help wanted donations from the other members to get married.
