260z no start once hot ..all electrical gone when hot
Could be a bad ground? Was it doing it before you added all the new stuff? Check the battery's ground at the starter.

Restoring a 1977 280z! (My first z car)
If you do bend that cover like I did, you can take it to an upholstery shop and have them reinforce the backside with a thin piece of metal and adhesive.

If you're talking about zhome.com, yes it's legit. A member on here, Carl Beck is the backbone of that site's information. It's very informative.

Made in USA drill bits?
My Dad said "Drill Hog" was a good set of bits for him, American made too. He has a sharpener but has never had to sharpen those. Couldn't remember where he bought them though. Here's some at amazon.com, http://www.amazon.com/Drill-Hog-Molybdenum-Lifetime-Warranty/dp/B00W303I1I

Eiji and I head to head
Thank you for the kind words, that means a lot to me. I've got 3 unrestored and only need 2 more. Like you, I have to add on to my garage first. We'll meet someday I'm sure. Thanks again, Cliff.

I need everyones input on this one (Combo and T/S switches)
I took mine apart when the dash lights went out. Cleaned everything the best I could, flipped those two plates over and now everything is brighter. Here's a write up I found that was very useful, http://www.kamikazeracing.org/dl/ZTech/Rebuild_240Z_combo_switch.pdf

Eiji and I head to head
You got a head and neck and half an arm on him! Fantastic.

Finally, some nice weather!
I like the way they bring back memories for folks in their 40s and over. Everyday last week somebody, from salesman to delivery guys, had a story to tell about a Z in their past. You could see a sparkle in their eyes and a smile every time. One story from a delivery guy ended with Quaaludes and a totaled Z.

L26 blowing back through the carburator
If you turned the crank counterclockwise to get tdc it will cause the chain to be loose. Turn them to the right to stay tight.

How rare is my z?
You might some info on zhome.com. There's one in my town a guy is restoring. I think he bought it new too. He's a member on here, Mr Dill is all I remember. Super nice guy.

Totaled my 240z
Thank goodness you're okay, 240s aren't too safe in an accident. Good thing your husband was there to take the hit. Very sad to hear but like Dennis says "Cars can be replaced and new emotional bonds established. Start looking for your next Z." Maybe you can buy it back from the insurance company or at least strip all the good stuff off before they get it. Nice SUs are a treasure.
