  1. Kids around here are mixing de-icer/windshield cleaner with Mountain Dew and drinking it! Methanol is what they want to get stupid so they won't fail drug testing. They're dropping like flies though, it's very poisonous. Kids do the darndest things to avoid failing a drug test. Legalize it and they'll quit this stupid sh#t. Soda brains? No brains!
  2. It tuck a few weaks but I finully got it tawked down to sex pounds. Thanks to Mr Waana for his add vice.

I know the zx fans are closer to the radiator but have an extra blade. I tried putting a zx fan on my 240 and with the ac pulleys it hit the radiator. I think the zx fans mount to the clutch in the back instead of the front like 240s thru 280zs putting them closer to the radiator. Ive removed the a/c so I'm hoping I can run the 5 blade zx fan now. I'll know in a week or so when I get the motor back in. Previously I had a 280 3 row with a zx full shroud on my '72 240. Greatly reduced the temp. Also I will attach a belly pan on there somehow as it doesn't have one now. I have one off a 280z but will have to drill different holes to work on the 240. My expirence so far.
  4. I'd like to think the face of the bigger valves would hold more fluid for testing. But that's just my simple mindedness way of thinking, I'm no machinist.
  5. 71!! You are my new hero. I did one when I somewhere around 41. Stayed in bed flat on my back for a whole weekend!
  6. Sociopaths don't understand negative.
  7. Read the recently updated thread "uneven oil pressure". I think you'll never be happy with that motor.
  8. Sorry for your misfortune. I'm grateful for folks like you that share this scam artist's misdeeds. He's a crook and will answer for it someday, somehow.
  9. Both my 240s have metal sliding ashtray covers. They are '72s though. I do have a cover like that over my fuse block. Sorry, but I learned something so thank you. 8^)
  10. Fortunately we won't remember how bad it is and how often it happens.
  11. It's cast aluminum isn't it? I wonder if you could have it welded from underneath somehow.
  12. This was $15,300 with 35 bids, now it's $11,350 with 33. Sleaze e-bay.
  13. I put "runs like a scolded dog" in google.com and it says, "Did you mean scalded dog". " This saying originated back when people used to cook, can, and preserve food outside, and occasionally a hungry dog that was sniffing around for scraps would get some boiling water spilled on it accidentally, or as I’m ashamed to admit, on purpose, by some impatient or mean human who wanted the animal out from underfoot."
  14. That's a good analogy, they run so fast their rear ends drop closer to the ground. I think it's probably "scolded dog" but I've always heard scalded too. Anyway, congratulations from the Peanut Gallery.
  15. 1/2" PEX elbow is what I used in a similar tight spot. FWIW
  16. Mine has some rust but a $5,000 paint job would make it just like this one, getting high bids with two days left. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-DATSUN-RARE-240-Z-SURVIVOR-CALIFORNIA-CAR-ORIGINAL-/381560716417?forcerrptr=true&hash=item58d6ca7c81:g:gc0AAOSwZ8ZW2Mxz&item=381560716417&rmvSB=true Charles thank you for that information! It's a solid #4, $7,000 car and the Alabama Indy Race at Barber's is April 22 thru 24. A lot of traffic through here to the track by Highway 411, two blocks from my house. There's my plan! Oh yeah, here's the wheels that came with it. I've got the scallops on there now like the bottom image.
  17. I disconnected my '77's under the passenger's seat. Works when the E-brake is pulled only, like The Good Captain says.
  18. Two guys I look to for inspiration, suffering the same as me, vicariously getting our Z fix through a computer screen. When you find that "energy", let me know what to ask for. I'm not cool anymore.
  19. When Momma's happy, everybody is happy! Great ending thanks to the forum. Rob, hat's off to you for the ecu.
  20. Take the gas cap off and see how it does? Check the fuel pressure at the carbs. You may have knocked some sediment loose and it's made it's way to the carbs banjo bolt filters. Good luck, hopefully it's nothing major. Blue was going to Florida and drive a truck back up. Said he may stop through Atlanta. Probably already done it though, been a couple of months.
  21. I don't want this car as much as I do the garage space. I've taken some pictures but my batteries are dead now and charging so I'll put some more up tomorrow but help me figure out a fair price please. Car runs great, don't know the compression yet but I'll check it and post that too. It's been in storage for 6 months and I got used to walking around my garage without hitting rearview mirrors. Odometer shows 23 thousand and some change, I'd say it's 123 thousand judging by the rubber on the pedals. It has A/C installed but not working, heater core was bypassed when I bought it so I don't know what's up with that. It has had a shi**y respray, flaking off around the edges of the hatch and hood. Help me please! I'm not gonna give it away but I'm not wanting to make a fool of myself by asking some unreasonable price so any opinions would be great. I've got the orange one that I like better so I'm selling this one. It would be a good car to restore. Thanks for looking, Cliff
  22. What the heck is lumbar? I thought that was back support in seats. So did a seat fall on your z? Lumber I know. And the lsx is the motor in the camaro your wife got hit in, right? you're going to put that in a miata? Interesting. How is your wife doing now? Better I'm hoping. You'll still help us out after the z is gone, also hoping. Best of luck! Cliff
  23. Is the cranks key slot straight up along with the cams protruding dimple that goes into the hole on the cam gear? Not sure how accurate, or eloquent as Zkars says, those descriptions are but they should both be straight up.
  24. Wouldn't you need to install the valves and springs for testing? or is there a way to close up the valve seat without the valve?
