  1. Now that I'm able to explain, unable to get a reply box? I try to keep up but I know everybody else does to. So wealth has nothing to do with it, determination is all you need and this forum. Money helps but time and the right information is all I need. Cliff
  2. That's my thinking too but I'm getting over the line with this hobby. It has consumed my life, mind, money and storage space. Time to reevaluate for me. I'm not a wealthy person. It's nerve wracking to say the least. I want another boat too! Girls don't get it when I won't go somewhere but buy an aluminium flywheel, weirdos.
  3. I use a drill and a long metal rod down the distributor hole to the pump, no valve cover. Start on low or you'll get splattered when it fills all the lines. Works good I think. I've discovered some bad holes on my spray bar before start up thank goodness. The rod I'm using now came out of a new clothes washing machine I bought. It's purpose is to keep the the basket locked during shipping. Ground one end down similar to the pump/dizzy drive spindle.
  4. Seriously? For the 19th time, http://jarvas240z.blogspot.com/2013/01/electric-fuel-pump-installation.html
  5. Tabco still makes replacement panels.
  6. Awe you guys, we think alike. $4,500 maybe. If someone wants to get cheap I could put the OE N47 on it and keep the N42 I bought.
  7. It's been so hot this past week and my Camry sits in the heat. I must get rid of one of my Zs and free up a garage spot. 918 is staying, so either 110 or 305?
  8. I was thinking a high lift/duration cam would negate the pinging from pump gas? I hope so or I've bought the makings of a grenade.
  9. Questions for an audiophile. Is there a way for me to put a 3.5 plug on an OE 240Z radio? What is the red with blue stripe, the ground? I see the fuse on the power and the speaker wire so all that's left would be ground, right? I know how to turn one on/off and the volume knob makes it louder but not much else. Thanks for any help. Here's what the back looks like;
  10. Those look great! Glad your gremlin was an easy fix. I've got the scallop hubcaps on my 110, slotted aluminium are in storage. That red Z on the hubcaps look better to me also.
  11. Talking about real motorcycles got me thinking of @rossiz Where have you been Geoff? Hope you're doing well. Cliff
  12. I've got a set but I'm gonna see what Matthew does then copy-cat his build. I used the 8mm in my 2.4, balanced them at like 438 grams IIRC. Put APR bolts in. With an aluminum flywheel it spins up like a motorcycle, not a Hog, a real motorcycle.
  13. Wow that fresh paint looks fantastic! I like matching the spoiler to the car. That 2x4 holding up the bonnet scares me. Tie it up to a rafter overhead. That's how I remove mine and reinstall by myself.
  14. I had one helluva time with plug until I remembered I had a torch. My old fluid looked like Sunkist.
  15. Could you direct us to dyno numbers for that build? I know how happy you are with it and Jeff G 78, an auto engineer says it's the best all around. P79 modified, .30 over flat tops in.an f54 block. I'm about to, this fall, do a n42 combo with flat tops and going from efi to SUs on my 280. See how that works out. Might do a cam swap while I'm at it. I'll have to get a job with Clinton and Kaine to afford it.
  16. Metric the same length. Slight filing of the peg, repainted the exposed steel and everything is groovy on mine. I recommend Beck Arnley if you don't want to spend $150 at Nissan.
  17. Dang! I just got a haircut reading that. You know, it went right over my head.
  18. If you want a good running motor, read up on Dizeased man at Datsun Spirit Eliji I believe. He has a solid build obviously, ie those five 240s. Rebello is a name brand now, I've read a few unsatisfied reviews on his shop. @Kurbycar32 was one. I'd like to know how his money spent is working now.
  19. 240s don't have those tacked on nuts. That's how I immediately knew something was off about the cheap mounts. Do 280s have those? I don't think mine did and am too lazy to walk down and look. It's hotter than two foot up a goats arse!
  20. I hated to speak out of turn but I keep up with my heroes and felt confident in saying what I said.
  21. I used Beck Arnleys on mine and had to file a small amount off the top of the peg, not too much though. They were about $18 each compared to $70 for Nissan's. Those Anchor and DEA are $4. Beck Arnley were made much better, the rubber was tight fitting. One size fits all is the problem, same with timing kits now.
  22. I'll go out on a limb here and say they are the original motors from his collection and a spare.
  23. Looks like that part number has been replaced with https://www.google.com/search?q=MSD+Ignition+22256&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&oq=MSD+Ignition+22256&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  24. The antenna switch goes in the space above the word TUNE. Those arrows are for the antenna UP and DOWN. This is my faceplate off my 01/'72 I think zcardepot.com has the best deal on an electric antenna, FWIW.
  25. When I read Blue would sale his I figured there was a downside.
