Camshaft oil sprayer
Agree with Jonathan, newer is better. I made a mistake above, my '72 came with the Phillips head screw type. It has a newer style that I pulled off a junkyard '75 280Z now. And when you put it back on I would suggest making gaskets for the oiler cam towers. I used some gasket material and tapped it out around the cam tower's opening. I have some old cam towers that I used. @Mark Maras used an old cereal box for his with good results. The ones from the factory are like paper. Another suggestion is to use Loctite thread locker on the small bolts that hold the spray bar on.

Your top one is what's on my 2/72. Bottom is what was on my 9/76. The one with Phillips screws is earlier.

Camshaft oil sprayer
You should be able to buy one from a member here. I may have an extra but I'll need to put my hands on it. Two different styles, the early ones have the big phillips head screws. I'm guessing yours does not. Good thing you caught that. Could've been a disaster.

The tool bins behind the seats are the best preserved original paint on mine. Maybe yours are still 918?- 918 orange Z in NH/MA area??
'70s cars should wear bellbottoms and stack shoes. Colors should be appropriate also. I like #112 yellow green too. Thanks @Carl Beck http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html- 918 orange Z in NH/MA area??

My something learned today, thanks to @240260280. I can go to bed now. Penultimate... pe·nul·ti·mate /pəˈnəltəmət/ adjective last but one in a series of things; second last. "the penultimate chapter of the book"- float bowl overflow
I tried my Nissan parts guy for some new floats, p/n 16061-E4310, big ole "nada" as in nada available anymore. I'd read this before and he also said the same. The floats are made of some lightweight fuel resistant foam and are solid so they can't absorb fuel. He suggested sanding them and carefully bending things back into shape. I wanted new floats to go with my new Grose valves.- 918 orange Z in NH/MA area??
I just had mine cut down and waxed. It looks different to me every other day. I know this doesn't help you but it does me.- Lightening of the flywheel
Check msa's ceramic coated header and the 2.5 premium exhaust. Seems like it was around $500 on Black Friday. Take those savings and buy some nice wheels and tires.- Sunday Fun Run
That's awesome! Beautiful day too.- 78 280z turns off with turn signal/reverse lights
You should do the Cadillac upgrade that @wal280z came up with. I can't find on this phone but will with my lapdance.- Lightening of the flywheel
I use an OEM spec Exedy clutch with a real light aluminum flywheel in my 240. It was $100 from amazon.com, part number was 066009. Fun to drive as a weekend car. The tach needle bounces like a ping-pong ball but it is a pita just getting up and out of my driveway when I first get in it. After a few restarts I get used to it pretty quick. Humble opinion #2- Advice for buying
No, don't fall for that. If it just needs jumping off, jump it off. I got a guy way down on mine. He kept saying it was something simple so I left him my number and said call when you get it running. I never even got inside my car to leave when he said "hey wait a minute". $8,000 sounds about right if it's decent and runs out good. Take a lot of pictures when you see it and post them up here. You should get a very detailed assessment from the gang.- float bowl overflow
I'd be glad to if he is interested. I hope mine has glass balls to! AlabamaDan, don't bust my balls.- Car surges forward when starting in N
Do the clutch slave cylinder adjustment and the correct distance from floor to pedal. You can google "240z slave cylinder adjustment classiczcars.com" and find the info. Good luck, don't want to drop the transmission if you don't have to.- float bowl overflow
Could be in the timing? Glad your making progress! Just rembered my ordeal. Once the float levels are right you must start over with carb balance and tuning airflow. But once you do it all over and get them right, say goodnight to Mr Carburetors. They will be solid for years.- 240 S/U's no start
From your photo. If your tangs are at this severe angle you'll have problems. That bent upwards tang will keep the float pushed up and no fuel will enter- 240 S/U's no start
Have you read about stacking washers on the valves. If I remember right I had two on 1 when I the different length float "ears".- float bowl overflow
