I'm stuck inside today and read from one end of the web to another looking for a vacuum advance. There's tons of info to read. I think I would start a new topic on repair or replacing the vacuum advance module. I read a lot on the Australian Z car forums but now that Photobucket SUCKS @Captain Obvious I couldn't view or copy and paste any of the photos but there were a lot of threads on the diaphragm being bad and the fix, but I couldn't see it because Photobucket SUCKS. Good luck, I'm going to bed, my eyes hurt.

I used 0000 steel wool to clean mine, only to see how pitted they were. I ended up cutting a short section out and replacing with fuel hose. It is the supply line straight underneath the battery. The return side wasn't that bad so I left it, coated with the SEM product. One day I'll replace them with new lines, right after I replace the old poly sheeting under my house.

Solar windows could power you're blender for a smoothie. 120 degrees! That's amazing. A dog wouldn't last long in that heat. Window tinters should stay busy.

I believe I see gold or orange on the driver's side front strut mount and the driver's side rear hatch hinge? There's a lot of small stuff painted red that shouldn't be painted. Bored as hell and trying to figure out the original color.

He'll need a miniature when the motor goes back in.

I coated my fuel lines under the battery with SEM Rust Inhibitor. They've held up for the last two years, when I did them. Turned them a dark almost black color. Never recoated them with any type paint. No answers for your questions just my experience on my car. 8^)

Can you run a vacuum hose straight from the nipple in front of the throttle blade straight to the vacuum advance, bypassing the evap canister "T"? I did that to my '77 when trouble shooting my bad distributor. Not real familiar with the ZX routing, sorry.

Google "blue's tech tips" click on electrical I think, maybe efi? but he has all the grounds listed that you should shine up. $0 dollars so that's the best place to start. A guy just a couple of days ago couldn't get his injectors to squirt. Cleaned an efi ground on the intake now his car is running. Could be a clogged air filter or exhaust too. Somebody will figure it on here. We enjoy the chase. Merry Christmas.

I put a junkyard ZX dizzy on my '77 and had to swap the OE one back in after finding ball bearings stuck to the stator. I read it in reverse, wrote everything down then did the change back. I thought the P90 was an N42 with better quench? Wouldn't milling a small amount raise the CR? Just talking, OP. We like to talk/type. You should consider bigger intake valves for the E88. I love my 2.4's higher revving. Stay on your course!
