  1. you reversed the wiring on the temp and thermotime? to take the guesswork out of it you should test the pins and make sure that you're plugged into the right sensor.
  2. the check valve just screws into the side of the fuel pump. its the brass colored inlet fitting down on the lower right hand side of the pump

whats the deal with the zx hood emblem? looks like thailand. probably not a factory 432 but a replica. very nice complete restoration. labor in thai is very cheap for the rich there.
  4. i used crumpled up newspapers and wood sticks to make the cover adhere to the old dash in certain areas. the newspapers are used as padding and i propped the sticks against the seats and against the windshield on the top. it helped me "shape" the cover to fit the glove box area better but its still not a perfect fit. i had to do a little adjusting on the glove box hinge to get it to close properly. half caps are the best if you want the glove box area perfect.
  5. replaced mine with the volvo and my fuel pressure still went south. turned out to be a leaking injector
  6. a 79-83 alternator but don't know what exact year. doesn't matter though. they are interchangeable. i just installed a 70 amp on my 78 280 with a 83 turbo alternator and it had the same decal as that one does. why not just have this one repaired? looks to be in good condition from the outside. may just need new rectifier set.
  7. ppg just called it yellow. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/aclchip.aspx?image=1971-datsun-pg01.jpg
  8. you don't need an expensive gun to paint the engine compartment. if you're low on money get one of those 50$ ones at lowes or home depot. the engine compartment doesn't have to be perfect. when you get the engine, hoses and wires in there alot of the paint is covered anyways. I would be more interested in the rust prevention aspect of painting the engine compartment. you can use aluminum foil to cover hard brake and fuel lines. too much trouble using masking tape on them. that 50 buck spray gun can later become your primer gun.
  9. see if some of those symptoms go away. also could try block test kit http://www.blockchek.com/index.htm
  10. there aren't that many parts to the clutch. your could just need a good cleaning. http://www.hammondsplains.com/newtechtips/cooling/index.htm
  11. i've always just put new oil in them and or a new seal. generally and i do mean generally, beck arnley parts are good quality.
  12. teflon tape on the old switch http://www.ehow.com/how_7679602_use-teflon-tape-refrigeration-connection.html
  13. if the epoxy fails try this stuff it's thick and slimy. you have to specify which refrigerant you're using. these guys in phoenix know their stuff when it comes to auto a/c. they also have a great message board for advice on auto ac. http://www.ackits.com/c/Nylog/Nylog+O-Ring+Lubrication.html
