SU Mod (lifted from the net)
Love the throttle bodies. Would love to try my hand at that some time.

Should I Buy a 260z or hold out for something else?
I agree with SteveJ. If you are working with a relatively low budget, find the most rust free car you can 240z or 260z.

Too big and old for Z
That's a nice looking car. I would think 12k or above easily according to what I have been seeing lately.

A Project Is Brewing...
On the O2 sensors. When you are done tuning you may want to pull the sensors and put the bung plugs back in. I ran an Innovate on my truck for a year or so until the O2 sensor went bad. At $54 for the replacement that starts to add up. I have read that depending on the location and heat as well as moisture in the exhaust system they can have a short life

Off to ontario!
I third the Badlands - Montana route. The badlands are amazing and in Montana at the time I don't believe they had a posted speed limit. Was following a Convertible LeBaron with the top down at triple digits. Went by a state trooper. He didn't bat an eye...

Would you give $4000 for this car?
73str86 the first car is in the NC and probably has the typical rust for my area, maybe worse since NC salts their roads. The other Ebay car which is sold would be a great project platform. I wasn't really thinking of buying this particular car or any car for that matter, but I am always looking. My larger point is that our Z market seems to be appreciating rapidly .

Calling it. Parting out a series 1.
Be sure and add the VIN to the Z registry so we know its gone

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
An engine test stand would make it much easier. That's a great idea

Would you give $4000 for this car?
I didn't see the no title part. I wouldn't go for that except a super low car. Titles can be acquired through places like Broadway title and I have done it but it does add some money. Also if the car shows up as stolen you can be out of luck. That's my part of the world. I am not surprised, sometimes we have nice Z's in our area at decent prices. I am not sure that is not becoming a thing of the past. It's been 3 years and in those years it seems like the cheap cars and projects have disappeared. I routinely see what I consider basket case cars at 3-6k prices. That will make it harder to catch up with Deseazd

Rock 'r Roll
Roller rockers would be very cool. They would also mitigate the ZDDP discussion as well as facilitate high spring seal pressures. Keep us informed. It will be curious to see what kind of price they come out at.

What is the source for the roller rocker arm?

Would you give $4000 for this car?
I was browsing for projects. I don't need one but you never know. I might find the perfect car to supplant my other projects. I like to look out West because the cars have less rust. Found this http://palmsprings.craigslist.org/cto/4982451262.html Thoughts? I won't do it but I have seen a number of cars that are $4-500 cars in my opinion but are starting to be priced a lot higher. Not saying this is a $500 car but a $4000 car? What do you all think?

Seeking Some Advice About The Dash
Those may not work because on second look they are not very close to you even though I used your zipcode. They might ship though and one of them sounded like it might be in pretty good shape.

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
I can't image he can $1500 for it right now 0 bids. Rust holes at the structural joint above the quarter window. I don't know that I have ever seen that! Rust bubbles on both front fenders, frame rails, the floors, in the quarter around the gas tank, under the battery, all over...I hate to see low number cars get scrapped but that car will be a lot of work if it survives

BMW suspension on a Z?
In the US some very serious BMW people call BMW bikes "Beemers" and the cars are referred to as "Bimmers". That is something I picked up when I was a member of BMWCCA. As for the suspension swap. If I am making the correct assumptions I believe the donor car is an E24 M6. If it is then there is a lot of work to transplant the suspension. The track width is 56.3 / 57.5 (Front / Rear) for the M6 The track width is 53.5 / 53 (Front / Rear) for the Z So you are gonna have some width issues to deal with. Also you have to determine where all the M6 suspension wants to mount to keep all the factory caster / camber/ Etc. If you narrow up the strut mounting locations to mount in the Z you change the geometry of the suspension. Also the M6 suspension is going to transmit loads to the Z body differently. That means lots of reinforcing and reengineering. You will also have to mount the M6 rear cross member that holds the trailing arms. Is there enough room in the Z floor pan to accommodate that? You would also have to add the mounting studs out near the Z doglegs. Not a super strong point in the car and prone to deterioration. Also there appears to be no camber or toe in adjustment on the E24 like on my E36's. They tend to get off with bushing wear. Just added adjustable camber & toe in on our E36/7. Lots of work. I believe you would have to strip a lot of the car in order to do all the welding work required. My 2 cents is like Chas' much easier to go coilover and put that time and work into the drivetrain swap if you pursue that.

BMW suspension on a Z?
The suspension is out of what Bimmer?
