  1. I believe her 280z is a low mileage car. Her 240z has the 256,000 on it but it has bigger issues than miles
  2. Jim, what kind of negative feedback on the people's choice? What were the complaints?
  3. John Coffey Is Bill Coffey related to you somehow? He had a blue raced prepped Z at Zcon and I thought there might be a connection. Also the John Morton car was a tribute car correct? I made a good many pictures under the hood to log the details
  4. Tire "scrubbing" the wheel arch

Got it. Thanks for the help guys, figured out the resize pretty easy but took me a while to find the right profile page to use it on If you don't recognize it, that is painting of Beale Street that was in the hotel. I thought that would be a good start. Great memories... Site I laughed out loud when I saw that. That was exactly the picture I had in mind and it fits the username quite well!
  6. Is that the slow 280 that comes flying by on the right. They looked like they were out for a Sunday drive. Looked good and sounds great!
  7. I showed these pics to my family and they were blow away with the amount of rust. I am glad the car is being saved and if it were mine I would make sure all the VIN's were on the finished car in the correct locations. Since there is no intent to defraud and I assume you have a title for #19 there should be no problem with that. Even if I had to stitch some metal in to make that happen. Also in most states the VIN on the chassis is the one that matters most all of the attached tags are secondary...

If it is an "after fire" as you describe then I will toss out a theory for thought. What if the loss of power is an event where fuel is not being burnt and being dumped into the exhaust and something hot like a cat or hot muffler pipe or flange is lighting it off and then for what ever reason the fuel starts burning again and the power comes back?
  9. Good travels Steve. I think you will get it sorted quickly. Blue, I was not sure whether that was rich or some oil deposits. I didn't look at them that close on Sunday because we were shot and a huge thunderstorm rolled through. Like the avatar, have you ever used a blue M&M character?
  10. The red hoses on the fuel filter may be ok. They are Gates multi use but I haven't researched the part number yet.
  11. I visited Jai (pronounced "Jay") on the way back from Zcon15. I looked at her 240z and will make a thread later on that. On her 280z she had me pull the plugs and make pictures while I was there. This is viewed from the spark plug side of the engine #6 is on the far left and #1 is on the right

Thanks guys. I will work on it. It would be nice to know how to do it myself so I can keep up with some of the others and they're ever changing avatars.
  13. Hope you can make it in '16 Madkaw. It was nice to meet people in person...

How do I make my picture smaller?

Couldn't find that. If you look at my profile there is a background that I am trying to make my avatar but I am failing at that.

How do you set your avatar picture? I am obviously doing something wrong...
  17. John Why don't you grind the welds? Is it an issue with weld porosity? Also are you related to a Bill Coffey at Zcon with a blue race car?
  18. I parted out a 76 280z a number of years ago. I probably have those lights around here somewhere if I can find them
  19. A two speed buffer (1800/3600) works better for polishing lens but it can be done on a 3600 rpm machine if you are careful. If you get overly aggressive you can melt the lens.
  20. I've already looked. Like 14 hours and the forecast this week was 80 headed toward the mid 70's far superior to the high 90's in Memphis. Looking forward to it. I am hoping to have something running by then. We will see. It was very motivating to come see all the beautiful cars.
  21. I probably have a 280z pedal box somewhere if you're interested
  22. Site That's perfect you need the bigfoot image for your avatar... My back was screaming on Saturday at the jetport so we didn't stay very long; I suspected the same issue with the mattress.
  23. Enjoyed meeting everyone too. I am still not sure Cliff exists as I never saw him and he doesn't show up in any of the pictures.
