  1. So, I'm pretty damn excited for the next Star Wars movie: The Last Jedi. I like how modern movies are taking things to a more realistic level where you can relate to the characters, just like the original series... You've probably seen the trailer, but, if not, here you go:

Replacement dashboards are very hard to find, if not impossible. If you did find one they would cost in the neighborhood of $1,000 - 2,000 or higher. You can try for a used one, but, it will just crack again. I used to know of a place that re-builds dashes, I think it was called Just Dashes. Oh, yes here it is: http://www.justdashes.com/services/imports/ I have no current experience with the new management, but, I do remember some people said they did a good job. I don't know how much they charge, sorry..

  5. Found this tonight on facebook. $36,500 collector owned it says... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/6319387030.html 1972 DATSUN 240Z. 4- speed. Senior owned. Sold new at Forest Datsun in Redwood City California. THE original dealer stamped sales brochure included, with original manual, documents and dealer maintenance credit card. 100% original Persimmon Red paint. Yes, 100% front to rear, top to bottom. Never damaged. Fully detailed. Collector owned. Smog equipment removed long ago and saved for posterity. Unrestored Bone Stock California car in absolute garage kept immaculate condition. Documented professional engine rebuild less than 1,000 miles ago, circa 2000. The Mechanical Engineer original owner was a fanatic on checking compression and ultimately decided the engine was becoming tired, resulting in precautionary rebuild. Once again, all documented in depth photographically with applicable receipts. His Peterbilt Truck design department parking garage decal remains on the rear bumper. Runs and drives as well as it presents. Fresh Vredestein radial tires. New exhaust. Seeing is believing. Still has new Z smell. All concise documents and maintenance log since new. I am the second owner. Titled in my name, current registration. Clear title. Not into stories, car is for sale. Take care, Rick
  6. Whoops, glad you found the problem. Do you have pictures of the final assembly?
  7. Check the plugs and the fuel filter. You may need to change the filter if you put fresh gas in an empty tank (rust or corrosion build up). Also check to make sure your fuel lines aren’t brittle because a fuel leak can be dangerous. You may want to change the oil and the filter. On first start make sure you have oil pressure. Hi guys, Wanted to let you know that Jai recently posted an update to her status. Looks like she hit something with her car. Take a look at her status here: http://www.classiczcars.com/profile/30236-redwing/ I hope she can get Redwing fixed up, we may need to help her locate the parts. Mike
  10. You would have to run your carbs very rich and I'm assuming straight pipes...

Oh, this is bad... if this is the service feed to the neighborhood then it's likely running at a very high current. If it's sitting in water it can be even more dangerous. It's likely the power is shut off but I'd stay far away from that cable...

That looks like a ground wire (no shielding). Definitely want to get that fixed.. Edit: I just noticed the arc'ing pits.. wow, that must have caused some serious sparks. Hope the electrical equipment in your house is ok.

I frickin LOVE LOVE LOVE Tokyo. My first trip was earlier this year and I plan to go back for sure. Great photos, thank you for sharing!! My favorite is the cop yelling at the smirking motorcycle rider..
  14. I suppose there’s some lesson here about being careful what you say when joking. This particular lesson comes from Mai-Lee Acea, who told her husband, Tomas, that he could bring his ‘87 Nissan 300ZX project car inside their Miami-area house to protect it from Hurricane Irma. Well, he could as long as he could get it through the sliding glass door, which, Mai-Lee confidently thought, he couldn’t. I’m sure you see where this is going. When you say “through” a door, I suppose there’s room for interpretation there, because Tomas got his Z “through” the door by dismantling the entire glass sliding door wall, making an opening big enough for him to back the Z into the living room. Mai-Lee doesn’t seem to thrilled by the development, but, to her credit, she’s honoring her end of the deal, and the car is safely weathering the storm inside. The sliding doors were replaced, and covered with metal shutters, and, to be extra careful, the whole Datsun was wrapped up in plastic, like a colossal six-cylinder sandwich. Despite at first wondering “What the **** did you do to my glass door?” Mai-Lee did have some nice things to say as well, admitting in an interview: According to the Miami Herald, she’s still a bit bitter, saying: ... though I think overall she’s dealing with it pretty well. The family has evacuated to a safe location to wait out the storm, and hopefully when they return both car and living room will be restored to their former glory.

We do have some members down in FL. From what I can see the map shows about 14-15 people down there. @billcapp, @26th-Z, @Carl Beck and others are regulars on our site. Good luck and our prayers go out to you and your families...
  18. $4-5k sounds like a fair price. Of course this is difficult to judge over the computer. Have you asked someone to give you a price on the repairs?
  19. You should be able to.. Have you tried the gallery too?
  20. Don't worry in a few months we will be complaining about the cold and rain...

I, frankly, don't understand why someone would want this in their yard as "art". There's no obvious reason why a car should rot when an enthusiast could take it and turn the car into something beautiful again. I do understand why you wouldn't want to part the cars, it takes time. But, I do think you should get these cars to good homes, at fair prices, so they can breathe life again....
