1976 280Z vacuum selector valve
No comprendo. Seriously. Don't know. When the label is right at the end of the hose, how can it not go there? Can't hurt to switch them. There is a lot of stuff in that AC chapter. I think the 76 FSM chapter might be in better shape than 75. This part here is odd also, below. Not sure what it means. Touch.

Zeta causes long ago anxiety
That sucks. I had my power go out for four days due to cold, wind and snow. Found out the fireplace really sucked, like it sucked all the heat out of the house instead of creating any. It was worthless as a heat provider. But you should have been ready. It was predicted over a year ago. Your free paper towels will arrive soon.

1976 280Z vacuum selector valve
Looks to me like the valve has the hose connection locations cast in to the back. I would use those instead of the drawing if they don't match. Looks like one your D hoses is switched with another spot, it's on the "I" position. Don't lose those pieces of tape.

COVID-19
Hungary is allowing fans at their soccer games. Can't end well. Those are real people in the stands, not cutouts. Meanwhile, their hospitals hit record high cases. Same day as the game. Today. https://news.yahoo.com/number-covid-patients-hospitalized-hungary-115146111.html icture

C’mon! Own up ...
Sometimes I do long division on paper just to keep that part of my brain moving, the part that was formed many many years ago . Today you don't even need to open a calculator anymore, just type in "378 divided by 22 =" and an answer pops up. Sad... Incredible, but still sad.

C’mon! Own up ...
I tried to find a decent paper map recently and it's about impossible. Even the Thomas Guide is essentially unfindable. And the internet maps are poor, the ones on your tiny phone thing, most of the streets and small cities aren't named until you zoom in on them. What you're supposed to do is turn on Location and do what your phone/computer tells you to do. "Turn left in 300 yards..." Doesn't work in the boonies, no coverage. It's incredible how technology's advancement is making us all less capable. I used to be able to read a map with my right eye while driving with my left one. https://laist.com/2018/06/22/thomas_guide_maps_the_rise_and_fall.php

"Brand new" 280Z
This one is climbing fast. Worth following. Still seven days left and it's at $25,240 (who does $40? - Lstepp4re). Let me know if you don't want to fill your thread with extraneous stuff. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-38/

Pumpkin Spice Edition Gold for Zup
- L24 Engine Build, Head / Camshaft Suggestions
@Diseazdand @siteunseen and others have done some rebuilds, performance and stock. I think that E88 head is going to be a question mark. There are several variations, as I understand things. Not positive though. The Maxima head is used to raise CR. Wouldn't make sense to use a 2mm head gasket with it. Defeats the purpose. @madkaw has done a Maxima head, I think. Good luck. I'd just put a cam in it and some new rings myself. Have you measured the bores? Does it need boring? If not, save the money, the Datsun blocks are tough. Don't forget that with a new cam you'll need new or reground rocker arms. Nickels and dimes will add up.- 78 280z very loud screeching at idle
How about oil pump self-destructing? Or maybe the distributor shaft is dry. And, the quote above does not tell anything at all about the history of the engine. Happy to throw random guesses at you though.- Something horrible just happened - an ad autoplayed "music" on the CZCC site
Here's another one. This one played loud music for a "Hydropower" ad, then a silent video about Fredericksburg (why?) played.- Pumpkin Spice Edition Gold for Zup
Because I care. It's still out there. Don't get used to it. It just takes one guy who thinks his cough is no big deal. Seriously, sorry to be a downer. But those pictures make me cringe. Outbreak imminent. https://covidactnow.org/us/missouri-mo?s=1202293 Here's a better graphic.- 12/70 on eBay - Barn Find
In case anyone wants to look for the engine. Might raise its value. It's missing. Seem to be a lot of barns getting cleaned out suddenly...- 31K Miles Series I 240Z Up for Auction on BaT - Over $100k on First Day!
Things seem back to more normal in early 70's Z auctions. That rejected $111,000 bid.... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-240z-155/?utm_source=dm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2020-10-26- 78 280z very loud screeching at idle
When you open the throttle intake manifold vacuum drops. Less air would get pulled in through the hole, if it is a gap or hole, due to lower vacuum. The BCDD is a good place to look. It's under the throttle body. The crankcase is under vacuum also, from the PCV system. So any hoses that are involved with the PV could be leaking. Really, any hose on the engine, that's not a water hose is a vacuum hose. Get a spray bottle with water in it and spray hoses while it's squeaking. Should change pitch if it sucks in some water. Won't hurt the engine.- 78 280z very loud screeching at idle
Has the engine had any work done on it? Always good to know the history of a car/engine. Your video was with the belt on. Should have done one without it, it will be fine for a minute or two. I'd guess something in the damper pulley area.- Something horrible just happened - an ad autoplayed "music" on the CZCC site
Actually it looks like the ad that autoplays is a video ad, but it's one of those that plants itself in the middle of a person's post. This one just played an ad for The Voice. @Mike Only posting because you said that autoplay is not allowed. If things have changed I'll stop compalining.- Cars for Sale: 1978 280Z Fairlady Back Pearl Edition
That's a $250,000 car... Good luck. It's interesting.- Something horrible just happened - an ad autoplayed "music" on the CZCC site
I managed to get a picture of the offending audio ad. It was for King 5 News. Here's the picture. It seems to be audio only. There ain't no ad where an ad usually sits. - L24 Engine Build, Head / Camshaft Suggestions
