Hey guys, nothing to do with me, but this looks like it could be good for one of you. Cheers Chris http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2442635607&category=42612

  4. I am willing to donate my space to your cause. I must admit, I never expected to see that many G nosed cars in one place. I still love the white, but two white G noses in SA may be just a tad much, might have to think some more. Thanks again for the pics Chris
  5. Wow, I hope you got some nice shots (who am I kidding, I am yet to see a bad Alan photo) of that particularly nice looking white G nose car I can see. I always look forward to your contributions on the site. Cheers Chris

Boomerang- Aboriginal weapon, curved piece of wood Bull Bar- Bar, fixed at the front of your vehicle to protect it against [impact] hitting kangaroos (thank god you dont see these on Z's too often) B.Y.O. - Polite way of saying - Bring Your Own - drinks/food. 7. *address deleted* remove the remove, i get enough unsolicited emails as it is
  8. Not sure what else it would come off, I know its on the later 260's (well the block in the front yard anyhow), and hence I would assume the ZX's and skylines have it as well?
  9. Thats what I understood it as being, but OEM, I thought could be second hand stuff as well. That said, a couple of NOS stock listings lately have been for used parts .:disappoin
  10. White grease is the go, not sure about what its technical name is (may even be white grease) but its meant to be better lubing and attract less dust etc.
  11. If you want to do it all properly, you should be able to get a blanking plate off an L26 engine, and if you cant find one, I am sure I could dig one up from a scrap motor lying round here. Cheers Chris
  12. Proxlamus, thats not totally true for the L series engines in mild tune its probably correct, but for high performance L series and definitely the bigger bore straight 6's ie jag XKE motors its quite a benefit to have the twin pipes from the donk back.
  13. Just a note, that little datto fuel tank made of light pressed steel weighs a bloody ton when its full of fuel and you drop it on you, the closer to empty the better in my opinion. Cheers Chris
  14. Hmm, Hobart, last time I checked, I wasnt even considering Tasmania as part of Australia, hell they give you enough $^!# about coming from the mainland etc etc. If you are in SA and get bored, drop in, but I'm a bit out in the sticks and I dont have a running Z, so its probably not worth it .

I always wanted to try this at an RBT, but being on my P plates in a slightly dodgy car I never had the guts, and now I have my full licence, I never get done by an RBT: Cop: Sir could you just blow into this mouthpiece till I tell you to stop. Chris: Can't do that officer, I am a terrible asthmatic, and making me do this could cause me to have a terrible and life threatening asthma attack. Cop: Well we'll just take a sample of your blood then. Chris: I am a diagnosed haemopheliac, and any puncture wounds could cause extensive blood loss and bruising, sounds like a police brutality claim to me. Cop: Well just get out of the car and walk along the white line. Chris: Can't do that officer. Cop: Why not? Chris: I'm too plastered to walk home, thats why I got in my car. (then prove myself to be totally sober) Ahh maybe one day Rusty one, if you are ever in the area on the first sunday of a month, you will have to come on one of the car runs. I dont have a running datto yet, so I just tag along with dad, but there usually an XKE, lotus, heap of mini coopers and other rubbish and a few road bikes. Its an absolute blast up throught the hills out the back of Gawler where I live stop have breakfast and a chat and head back. Nice fast trips (unless the local policeman is along in his cooper S, in which case its controlled till the second or third corner when he gets left for dead)

  18. I've already PM'ed Daniel its a real problem getting 240Z parts in SA, the going rate seems to be at least an arm a leg, possibly even a left testicle, and your firstborn child. If any fellow South Aussies find a good cheap source of 240 parts let me know . Hows the car going Daniel, still under the influence of a canary? All the best Chris
  19. Alfa fiberglass 03 5678 8874 Melbourne I think this is their current contact details?
  20. Maybe in a moment of total boredom we should all post pictures of our oil caps, its too cold and dark to do it now, but I will try and do it during daylight
  21. My Australian Spec 73 240 has the elephant oil cap, and looking at the car, it doesnt look like it would have had someone who loved it make it "cool" by putting an elephant oil cap on it.
  22. If you are talking about the panel just in front of the windscreen, mine was mounted with foam, and had two large areas of rust exactly where the foamy stuff was. I think that might have been one of those good idea (at the time) bad idea many years later things.
  23. Halz, please dont tell me your car is called wasabi now?
  24. Just advertise on Ozdat and see what kind of nibbles you can get. If you find out who paid that much for a 240Z Slushbox, let me know, I had mine advertised for a while at 100 and got no bites .
  25. Well, you dont have too much invested in it, but I think a few of your prices are a tad high. I think you would be lucky to get anything for the auto slushbox, you may get something but not 300, the motor may be about right, give or take a couple of hundred, and speak to cuong about selling your cv halfshafts.
