The bump is actually off center. You will see there is only one way it can go in so that the bump is positioned over the center of the diff.
  2. I see the hatch seal for sale but not the glass seal.
  3. Thanks, I do remember you posting those in the past. Pictures 5 6 and 7 are what I was looking for. Youre car is a twin of mine what vin?
  4. Sort of off topic, does you're 77 have a sloped luggage deck or flat? I am still looking for pictures

Same about 3/4" but I cut a little at a time and test fitted it so that when it all was back together the bump stop was compressed but not difficult to put back together.
  6. Nice car. Are you going to replace the 280z hood or keep it?
  7. I agree.
  8. have you tried this? http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/afm/index.html
  9. Cool, yes pics!
  10. Wo there, I am not sure what easy off does to ABS. If you try it start in a small area. I would not what you to destroy anything.
  11. Hmm, I had no idea that early interior parts were fiberglass. good luck. show pics?
  12. The center console I believe is made from abs not fiberglass. There is an old scale modeler trick that uses easy off oven cleaner to remove paint from styrene plastic, this may destroy your console but if its trash anyhow you could try it. SEM paint to restore it back to black. SEM texture may work also.
  13. so you are going to fix it after all?
  14. what year is you're car?
  15. the fun part is putting it back together!
  16. Nice car. is it a 77 or 78? I am planing on suspension work in the near future also on my 77. BTW San fran is an awesome city, just visited with my fiance last year.
  17. I need to say, good job on the green car. The seller even threw in the original seats, nice car. When/if you have it post pics. Grant (the clown).
  18. Is this the thread? http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?37823-Rubber-Bushing-Set&highlight=rubber+bushing+part+numbers Anyhow yes the spreadsheet would be helpful. I made the inquiry for bushings but also for brake parts and really my car is always a work in progress so it is a good resource to have. There are many aftermarket parts that are great but when it comes to safety I want to make sure that some parts are OEM or close to it. Thanks, pm on it's way.
  19. Thanks, I think I was given a link to that sight once before but forgot about it. Sometimes the search just does not give relevant returns, both CZCC and Google. It may be a garbage in garbage out scenario though. Again thanks that web page will help alot.
  20. I am sure this has been discussed before, but my searches keep coming up empty. Where are people finding Nissan part numbers? I can't seem to find a fiche anywhere. Atlantic's FAST software does not work on my windows 7 machine. This is becoming frustrating, and I don't whant to keep asking the board for every single part I need to research. Any ideas?

Conclusion: I went with Dave's harness. I had a really hard time finding 280z connectors,I even tried making a trade with another member here, He got my parts but never sent me the connectors as promised  So I gave up on the him, and continued the search and eventually a 280z showed up at a junk yard close by. I got the connectors and drove them up to Dave's place, He made me a custom harness right there on the spot. I could not be happier with the outcome. I am using stock lights and I can now see road reflectors at night and even a few high beam flashes at me (I need to aim my headlights). Thanks Dave, and everyone else that gave me advice on this.
  22. Replacing the outside door handles is a PITA unless you remove the window assembly or have small hands. I have done this three times now and my hands come out bloody. Patience is required
  23. Now that you have the FSM remove the offending relay and restore the wiring back to stock. The second photo mostly looks correct the two black wires that split are stock grounds the butt connector red to greenish blue looks like a hack. For now remove the "upgraded" headlamps till you get a proper relay harness" Dave Erwin makes them you can get one from MSA (or himself I think) I highly recomend his harness it worked great for me. Go through the wiring very methodically.
  24. How much did you bid?
  25. I have a left rear tail light surround for a 260/280? The kind with the two little vertical bumps next to the back up light. No cracks but it will need to be repainted.
