  1. That will be great, but cannot help the cost issue......Very expensive.
  2. I am working on this for a while to make it right. Since vintage style tonnaue cover(original one or reproduction one), does not fit right, does not work right for many reasons: Botton fastenings, unstable mounts, poor sewing condition, limited access to the back, limited access to the strage lids on Series 2 car, got to drille holes, does not work on 280Z cars, very expensive, very hard to repair once it breaks, and so on. So I decided to spend some time on this project. This new type will be targeted to be.......... 1. No drilling is required. 2 nuts and 2 screws. 2. Rear strut caps stay the same. 3. It even works with rear strut tower bar. 4. It will prevent your luggage from sliding forward. 5. It has backing material in gray cloth. 6. It will be probably under $199 . 7. For the extra cost and time, many different colors are available. 8 It will work on all 240Zs 260z, and 280Zs. I have some pictures of the prototype.

I have a picture for you here. 12/1971 car.
  4. I see the front end of this car has been painted. Many of these cars received repaint after arriving at the port here in US. But this paint seems little more recent job than that. Also, it might have 210K miles rather than 110K miles by looking at its engine bay. I would definately go and look at the car before bidding since you are in San Diego, or contact this guy for on site vehicle inspection at 310-308-6745 Yasu/Auto Inspector (www.autoinspector.org) By the way, I am also a professional vehicle certifier and inspector.
  5. I just found out that our braided hose set fro 240Z can be used to make a lower hose for 260Z and 280Z if you do not mind connecting 2 and cut off the extra. (use full length of 240z lower hose and use some of the upper) It will actually work pretty close!!!!! Unless you look at it very close down there, it will look pretty good. Just a thought for 260Z and 280Z owners........
  6. Here is what I found out today about length of our braided hose. Since current Nissan genuine upper radiator hose that is for all 240z, 260z, and 280Z cars, is actually too long for 240Z cars. Our's turned out to be exactly the same. According to my measurement, Core support on 1974 260Z are 1975 280Z-1978 are moved forward by 2cm to make room for AC, shroud, and so on. So Upper radiator hose is actually longer on 260Z and 280Z cars. So you and Randy was right. It is about 2cm longer than what the original production hose was. So please get your lase blade ready for some adjustment. By the way, there is a direction also, the longer streight side goes to radiator side.

Each Z432 R was built-to-order, so it all depends. It did not even come with bumpers, center console, glove box lid, clock, door armrest, rear hatch shock, or carpet. I have few pictures of Z432 in Japan here, it seems to have vacuum hose from the booster.........It might have been added for street driving..... http://jdm-car-parts.com/datsun-240z-original-detail/fairlady-z-432-r/
  8. That is my friend's car. It is Watanabe wheels. http://www.watanabewheel.com/ Now, they are expensive but sure look good!

I think he means "original key code #" on the original key. Cutting is easy at any lock smith.
  10. Currently we are working on getting US Tail lamp assembly made at same quality as the limited production Europeantail lights. Since Euro ones are very expensive, and very few were made (MSA has few now also) , we are working very hard to get the cost down. Our minimum order is 500 sets to get the cost down, so it will be a major investment and a space taker as well for us......... Price target/goal is at rertail price of $399 a set. Considering tipycal tail lamps for 300ZX are 200-300 a side, this should be a great pricing....... What do you guys think?

  12. Our site was down for few days due to SSL(Security System) to our shopping cart. Yes, they are available at MSA. Regarding cutting some off ? No need for now. It is exactly the same length and shape as factory hose. You just got to install it in correct direction and put it in all the way. As you see it in the picture, longer streight side will be the radiator side. By the way, heater hoses kit (upper/lower/streight bypass) will be available in 2 months. Now 260/280Z lower hoses? Well, I only hear from 5 people or so, now 95 sets to go, right? I have to take deposit from people who want lower hoses before making the mold for it. Minimum order is 100 set, so I have to have at least 50 sets presold in order for me to do it. We might make ones for roadster cars later this year. Esprist
  13. I have a completely rebuilt one 3.70 (New bearing and seals) with anadized rear cover and new drain plug for $350 if you like. Also I have brand new one in the box as well. (3.56 and 3.90) PM sent
  14. Rubber seals can be generic ones from Lowes or Home depot. You just got to cut it to fit it.

I used form kit and seat cover kit from Classic Datsun and it is great!. It takes some effort to get these wire-tie -down through the form, but it looks great as you see here. They also have door panel kit look really original, too!

Making door inner panel is one thing, but recovering it with new skin is another thing. I would call Lass at Classic Datsun in Southern Cal, who makes the best reproduction door skins with chrome molding that looks better than original ones. Door inner panel should be made with matching door skin for better fitting. Well, just a thought........ By the way, door panels are still available from Nissan in Japan, though price is already high...something like $550-650 a set......Plus shipping...... Call MSA, they have few new ones in stock from Canada as far as I know......... So by the time you make panels and skin, and labor.....It would be as expensive as new original ones.......
  18. No problem! It very nice to meet you in rain! If you need any questions in your restoration, I will be glad to help you!
  19. I would just buy ones for 280Z and put this decal on;) http://jdm-car-parts.com/item-for-sale/radiator-cap-decal-for-datsun-240z-260z-280z/
  20. I checked it with an NOS hose, and it is the same length. So it is OK to slip it all the way over the neck;) I also noticed that many after market hoses come a little shorter.......... I am go into put a set on my car, too!
