1971 type A tranny question/problem
Yes, Roger is a fine man with which to do business. Honest, sincere and dedicated. If all of us were like him, this planet would be a better place.

Physical differnces between a 240 and a 280.
You folks in the west and northwest are so darned lucky. Houston is TOTALLY void of any S30s.

Houston Texas Classic Datsun get together
Here's an idea... The first Sunday of every month, The Woodlands Car Club hosts a Cars and Coffee for a Cause meet 'n greet at Market Street in The Woodlands from 10:00 'til noon. Last meet, tons of new Camaros showed up, along with the requisite number of 'Vettes, 'Stangs, etc. Robert O and I had the only imports there. Whaddya say we "flood" the event with Z cars? We've got ample space to hold a total of 80 or so total cars and Robert and I have sufficient "pull" with the PTB to get us all parked together. I understand it's a haul for a bunch of us, so whatever you think is fine w/me. Just a thought.

Houston Texas Classic Datsun get together
Yeah! We need to have a pre-ZCON meet. Lets find a place where we can sit and sip coffee, whilst gazing at the cars. Do we need to hire a bullshit remover???? Frank

It may be getting close to the time to consider a 5-speed. Unless you want to retain the 4-speed for authenticity's sake, that would be a quick, easy swap. Frank

Rebuilding struts
RPM Delo is a brand name for diesel truck engine oil. I don't remember the weight ( I think it only comes in one weight, anyway ) as this was done in 1971. Any oil of whatever viscosity rating should suffice. I think the RPM Delo was a little too viscous as it made the car REALLY stiff. I cannot remember the weight of the factory oil, but it was quite thin as compared to the Delo. I do recall it being quite the chore getting everything back together with the heavier oil in the strut. ;-( Hope that helped! Frank

Rebuilding struts
Sort of. I stiffened the ride by replacing the thinner factory oil with RPM Delo. It worked. As the struts were almost new, I did not replace any O-rings or other seals, so cannot comment further. Frank

Car Cover...
I'd like to get a car cover I could use while trailering the Z without damaging the paint. Anyone have any experience in doing this, or should I not use a cover while towing? Thanks....

Well, Basil, you came to the right place. Plus you live in the right town. Browse the boards a bit and you'll see posts by Zsondabrain. He's your next door neighbor. Don't be afraid to use the search function, as there is a tremendous amount of knowledge stored within this site. Oh, and welcome!
